458 vs 570s/gt

GT3 with the engine issues....

 

I have bout . Ferrari 458 in Israel and 570s in Germany. The advantage of the Ferrari is sound and drama and look but the McLaren wins with the power of the engine,
And the McLaren is better as a car for a strong drive. Her grip much beter and the car actually feels part of you

I have both:
458 looks more exotic, better angles
570s has a cooler interior, 458 a bit bland
458 sounds 10 times better no comparison
570s is faster, much more TOP END, the 458 feels just as fast if not faster low end but once it gets to 3rd/4th gear forget about it 570s will pull fast
570s doors go up which is fun and cool
458 is MUCH more fun and thrilling to drive, 570s gets boring

(570s is my daily driver, 458 weekend)

Still would take a 458 all day over a 570

Replace 570 with 488 and I have same thoughts.

 

How about 720s v 488?

 

720s over 488 all day come on they aren't even in the same LEAGUE. I've not only driven but tracked both. 720s is better in everyway.

 

I looked at a couple of the McLaren models and for me they didn't come in any decent color. Their red isn't a red.

 

I have had both a 458 and currently have a 570S. Both fun cars but the 570 feels smaller and more nimble. The only downside is turbo lag at low RPM but in the higher ranges it is alive. 458 needs revs to come alive as well. For me Ferrari wins on noise but loses in every other way. However no real loser either way.

 

Both sound bad for an exotic, but I'd take 720 because at least it has great performance. Like a Tesla.

 

I mostly agree but only have driven a 570s, and don’t own one, just the 458. The only point I’d make is that I like the 458 interior better and for me it’s more spacious and comfortable. I also think the 458 will hold its value better, if that’s a consideration.

Great discussion. I actually cross shopped a 675 lt mclaren spider vs a 458 spider. I did not drive the mclaren but after driving the 458 I simply fell in love. Have been a lambo guy for years but now very excited to drive my 1st ferrari.
