I have trouble understand the window switches on the 458.

When I press the driver side window switch, the driver side window goes down and up by 1 press the button. Meanwhile, the passenger window requires pressing the button throughout. Is this a Ferrari feature or my car is broken?

The driver's side is one-touch, up or down. The passenger side is one-touch down, press-and-hold for up. That's normal. There must be some Italian logic to this arrangement. Can anyone shed some light into the rationale?

The logic is basic, the driver is concentrated in the driving, the passenger is not.

Passenger safety is the reason for this setup.

Is it true that the window motor fail often on the 458? I better stop roll them down

Most European cars have 1 touch window opening on the drivers side, this is so its faster/safer for the driver to fully open the window with 1 touch (rather than holding) when driving, i.e paying tolls, paying for you MC Donald's drive through
