bdelp where are you .. you usually ignore that kinda topics :)
Lambo gallardo and r8 have this problem. I think that common thing is direct injection. Maybe there is the problem
The car in this thread is a friend's car. When burnt to the ground Ferrari rushed to repossess the remains but the police prevented them from doing so. An investigation is on-going and as you know this is not an isolated incident. I am sure a recall is in the air.
If I was to hazzard a guess. Maybe the fact that the new 458 does not have a gas cap and may be susceptable to fire if the driver tops up the fuel or in other words overfills the fuel tank. But that is only a guess
Scroll through the 458 section - this has already been posted with pictures and lots of discussion. Jedi
A lot of bad luck, and is there anyway to disable youtube comments? Someone always manages to piss me off with their dumb remarks. ugh
The problem for the owner is that the paid 300k euro's for the car and he only gets 36k euro's from the airline company... Ouch. I hate to see this.....hopefully no injuries. http://wreckedexotics.com/articles/055-458-crashes.shtml
Yes, as said before, there needs to be a recall, and fast. Looks like this fire started at right rear, where others were left rear.
