Just wanted to share that when we purchased the 488, we had it Paint corrected and had a glass coating applied. Last week I bought the CR spotless water filter and a low pressure (1200 psi Karcher) washer..... cleaning the Ferrari is a breeze now! It takes no more than 15 mins to power wash, foam soak, and rinse the car. I dry blow it with a leaf blower! The glass coating makes the car not only look great but ensures a very quick drying process. Water just streams off with the blower. I have a Detailer come by monthly to fully detail the car in and out, but the combo of glass coating, CR and foam gun makes it super easy to do in between washes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not much to show in pics, but here is the car. Will make a pic tomorrow of the equipment. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
that's right! A MUST HAVE for the DYI Detailer ! In all reality, it's actually much easier and cleaner (and safer for the paint) than a wipe down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Beautiful car!! I use a leaf blower as well and agree. Much better for the paint. Will give those products a try! Looks amazing!
For those that wash your own cars. DO yourself a favor and get this Bad Azzz 80 Volt leaf blower. Its pretty fun to use as its like having a turbine in your hand LOL, 80 VOLTS !!!!! I use it to make my Wife feel like shes in an open cockpit plane while on the treadmill. its also fun to use as an alarm clock when she is sleeping. She doesn't particularly like it, but I think its freaking funny hahahaha https://www.amazon.com/GreenWorks-Pro-GBL80300-80V-125MPH/dp/B00R6Z4SEQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1492626489&sr=1-2&keywords=greenworks+blowers
There is a man that knows what he is talking about! Will order one right now! I may use it on the 488, but for sure on my wife! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agreed, the blowers are the way to go, but I decided to use the model I saw in my detailer's shop (they applied the ceramic coating). I use Metrovac's Master Blaster Revolution. I mounted it to the garage wall and use their 30' hose and end attachments to get into all of the seams. Dries my 458 in 5 minutes, no spots. https://www.metrovacworld.com/product/Air_Force_Master_Blaster_Revolution_with_30_foot_hose/overview Jim
These are great!! Very similar to the one I have, except bought it from Griots. Have used this for 5 years on my Ferraris. It is definitely the way to get ALL the water off your car. It also has an air filter built into the system. Leaf blowers have the potential to pick up debris and blow it onto your car. Works great on the wheels and wheel wells. Also these blowers are much easier to handle since you are only holding the air hose.
I had my car coated with 22PLE last summer and I agree that washing and especially blow drying is a breeze! I tracked my car at Daytona for the annual event and I was dreading the cleanup from the track- rubber and track grime all over the rear of the car and front bumper but it cleaned right up with just a little love from the foam cannon and normal wipe down- no scrubbing necessary!
Yes 22ple is legit. Used it on my 458 but skipped on my 488gtb for some reason. I'll do it o my spider and I also use the leaf blower technique. Just important to blow off the area the car is going to be washed on first so not to blow gravel etc onto the car
I have Xpel on the hood and mirrors and side skirts, and 22ple on the rest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
