488/458 Sound Comparison

So true. Just change the whole exhaust system.

Didn't hear any squeaking or lack of character there.

 

I was in my Tesla on PCH in Malibu CA, 488 went by, turned and went back. I like the deep note, but lack of anything up high was disappointing. Relative to a 458 that is. Looked very good in white, better than the red unveiling car.

 

I heard a 570s earlier while I was in a tunnel. It sounds similar to the 488 imo. Strong growl.

 

I saw one too with Aventador SV exactly behind it, while I was walking. All I heard was the sound from SV.

 

Had an f355 Fl GTS with a tubi. Sounded great but the mechanical problems were a nightmare. My 360 Fl spider was much more reliable and a much better car.

Don't see how a 488 can be more reliable than my 458 spider. 23k and no problems.

 

Lolol. Haven't heard a sv aventador in person yet. I would imagine it wound have a nice wail to it. On a rally I drove along side a aventador, huracan and 360 cs in my 430 spider. The 360 cs seemed to be the most audible. It was pure music,not sure if it was stock

 

Maybe not much louder than Std aventador, but looks better. Behind was an F12, and IMO, Aventador looks much better than F12 when parked next. Ferrari should make a mid-V12 super car.

Have you ever driven a 458?
If you haven't, of course the 488 sounds good. But if you're able to compare, then it is a different story.

I own a 458 and I've driven a 488 for two straight days. Sound wise: the 488 doesn't even get close.

I cannot remember the last time I used any audio in my 458

 

One of the reasons I do not sell the 458 is because I can not give up this car's sound. 488 may be faster but the feelings and fun at 458 are simply more good!!!!

 

I am just simply amazed by how a two year thread will pop up all of sudden.

 

The simple fix that I did with my 458 and current 488, have the vacuum lines disconnected and insert golf tees and zip tie. The 488 is great sounding all the time! And this is reversible too.

 

I think someone did it to remind the hecklers how silly they were back then. Good move!

That's right. Just put your foot to the floor in a 488 and the nearly extra 100 horses make you forget about any other distinctions. The 488 is just an overall better car.

It's like comparing a Stihl professional chain saw. The lower powered one wails higher and makes more noise....but the stronger, bigger, more powerful big brother model is deeper, has more "grunt" and lower tone....and chops through that tree trunk 10x faster... After a while of use, you'll learn to appreciate big brother...
