My 458 had this feature, but there's no evidence that my 2018 488 does. I've searched this forum, the owner's manual and the right TFT options screen extensively but haven't been able to come up with any answer. Can anyone confirm whether or not this feature was carried forward from the 458 to the 488?

    Thanks …..

It’s a feature which comes with the electric seats only. Was told this when I found the same issue shortly after taking delivery. Pity really but it’s not enough to make me go back on my seat choice.

Which seats did you select? I chose racing seats, but I did select the full electric mirrors option as well. It’s curious that there’s no mention of the auto-dip feature in the owners manual, as an option or otherwise. Hum, I’ll check the section on electric seats.

Yep, you're correct. This from the owner's manual:
Driver’s seat position memory (Full Electric option)
With reverse gear engaged, the position of the passenger external rear-view mirror can be adjusted to a position other than the driving position, to help parking manoeuvres. This position can be memorised along with all the other memorisable positions.

Racing seats with full electric chromatic mirrors but the reverse function is not available without having the seat mems unfortunately - or so I was later told. The same situation applied to the 458.

Yes, Ferrari has electric seats and FULL electric seats. The latter have memory positions, greater adjustment and heating as well.

The mirror tilt on reverse only comes with the full electric seats and that's it.

Does the mirror switch have to be in a particular position? Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

If he has the race seats then there is nothing he can do that will ever make the mirror tilt down automatically when reverse is selected.

So assuming Need4spd has the full electric seats with mems then he need make sure the knob is set toward the R/H mirror all the time because that's where it needs to be for the mirror to tilt when reverse is selected. If the knob is centralized or set on the left hand mirror then it will never work the tilt function on the right mirror.

PS. Over here it would need to be set to the left mirror....
