    Hi

I am currently using a Cheetah GPS speed camera detector in my car, it fits in quite snug Justin front of where the key rests and the central bridge, it doesn't need a special bracket it actually fits quite snug.

Currently have it running off of a playground into the 12v power socket, the device runs direct from 12v, so my plan is to run a hardwire from the 12v power socket tucked under the central tunnel and then bring it up where the tunnel ends at the front and plug into my speedcheetah device.

So my question is how easy is it to remove the tunnel to tap into the 12v?

I guess I have 2 ways to do it

1-unscrew? And lift the tunnel, tap the 12v and run the cable and bolt it all back...

2- Try and pull the 12v socket out of the tunnel, and assuming it has enough wire on it thread the hardwire under the tunnel using and fibreglass electricians cable puller and tuck it all in and then pull the wire round to where I need it.

Anyone done this or any ideas?

My GPS device gets a good signal down there without a separate GPS antenna, so I don't need to plumb in a separate antenna, which is good, as I d have to go up under the dashboard and I want to avoid that..

Let me know if anyone has an idea of best way to do it, ideally from experience..

    Regards

    Michael

Why not tap directly from the battery ? Use a fuse in that lead ...

I made on for my Phone and on for my TomTom ...

    Simple to fix ...

    ????

That's nuts...then it will be on all of the time and drain the battery...

It needs to be ignition switched..

I'm going to get my screwdrivers out at the weekend it can't be that difficult to do.

This is how I did it ... bougt a simple adapter, connected that to the battery via a fuse.

    I can insert 2 USB cables or 3 others ... easy !
