Somehow the 488s rear is better proportioned. I like my 458 aesthetically but the back end always seemed just a little off to me. Maybe a bit too boxy (458) or just too big. Difficult to put my finger on it but without a doubt the new 488 is better looking to me with respect to rear end . Front and side of GTB I reserve judgement on until I see the car in person. I have a feeling the car will end up being very well received once it's out. I sure hope it's faster than my Mclaren though (12c) and 650s . I want it to be faster not only from 0-124 but also quarter mile. To me performance is important along with looks and experience.
The biggest compliments about the 458 Spider are the rear and side views. People generally dont say much about the front.
IMO, when you say a car is beautiful or not, you also need to compare it with other cars in it's range. 458 is the most beautiful car right now. 488 of course is very beautiful too, because it is basically a 458 with side air vent. Pagani Zonda or Huayra is much more beautiful than 458, but that's different range. So Ferrari's done a right thing in the design, which is not to mess around with stuff that works. It's just.......is it as engaging as 458 or not, we'll find out after the first delivery batch. I hope they don't repeat the story of Cali T. Cali's customers are different with 458's customers.
Sounds to me Like the 488 suffers from valves that close off the exhaust while at low rpm just like the 458, f12 and FF. Before I even pick mine up I plan to have new exhaust on the car.
You might want to try and plug/pull the vacuum lines before you go to the expense and hassle of a new exhaust.
On list with my dealer to spec a 488. Excited to spec her out. Was thinking Rosso Fiorano with black top. Dealer telling me deliveries won't even start till 16...but, I am in no hurry. I think the 488 will be an epic car. Think I will keep my 458 and sell a Lambo. Will see.
You guys are missing the point on the Pagani. It's exactly what it's intended to be, but not for everyone.
