Strictly my personal opinion. The Lamborghini is enjoyable, more forgiving and I suspect if I had to choose a car to get from point A to point B over an unknown stretch of highway as quickly as possible, I would take the Huracan. The AWD lets you confidently drive into an unknown corner much hotter and know you've got the AWD safety net. The Ferrari you've got to treat a little different. There's no doubt the 488 is faster around a racetrack but beyond that and the deal breaker for me is that the Huracan never makes you feel like a driving God. The 488, when you get it right makes you just want to scream at the top of your lungs as you exit a corner hard on the gas. It communicates with the driver and is simply a more enjoyable driving experience for me.

That misunderstanding of awd and how you car corners will get you in quick trouble. All wheel drive would never let you enter a corner faster than rear wheel drive. Tires and suspension corner, the drive wheels pull / push you out of that corner AFTER ATHE Apex and that's that. There is no such thing as an awd safety net when cornering. Awd has come to give people a false sense of security in an area that it provides none. "Car guys" think awd is cornering heaven. Anyone that races will tell you it's misconception.

The fact of the matter is that the heavier front end with the extra components will most likely push through a turn before its rear wheel driven counterpart.

If you come into a turn too fast in any car your car will simply not make the turn the drive wheels won't save you.

Now if you're basing this on the idea that when out driving hard You notice that you're entering turns while still applying throttle... this means you're not anywhere near the cornering limit of the car or the tires so there is no basis or need for a safety net.

What AWD will let you do is apply power out of the apex sooner and with more confidence. Less concern about bringing the back end around. However when you come to the next turn you're back on the brakes slowing the car down to meet the speed which the tires and suspension can actually rotate the car at. At this moment your Huracan is no wheel drive just like the 488 at the same moment.

At this moment look at which car is more responsive, lighter and nimble. That's the better car to be in on the limit mid turn.

Unless you feel more confident and therefore can drive faster.
For the 99% of us, that is.

That's why my opening line was that this thought will get you in a lot of trouble. It's one thing to have confidence in a car. That will help you drive faster. Bit to think that car can do something for you that it just can't, that's false confidence.

Hate to see anyone pile up a car thinking it's awd helps it corner.

Maximus and I watched a v10 spider r8 almost eat it trying to get away from us on the Nordschleife two weeks ago. He had a nice off. Had too much confidence in his car

After my black/black 458 I've gone for traditional colour combo but with a modern twist.

Rosso Corsa metallic. Crema leather with Rosso alcantera....

Hope the spanners and screwdriver on the drivers seat are genuine Ferrari!!!

    Great colour combination.

What sort of seats have you gone for?

Alcantara is not a seat option on the configurator, so would love to see a photo of the interior when you have one.

    Thanks...
The first 2 were together, the final one about a week later. I don't think any relation to real time, just when someone in the office uploads as and when.

Congrats and nicely done Ron. I notice your rear diffuser is painted red as well. Was that done by the factory?
