congratulations..beautiful grigio ingrid! my dealer just old me that my car is on the boat and that the factory is having trouble sending photos (i never got one). So hopefully sometime next month....
I’ve always thought that the 488’s controversial side profile doesn’t photograph too well. Especially since so many cameras, particularly iPhones, are wide angle. If you stand near the car to fill your photograph with a decent amount of car, the lens disturbs the lines. I was cleaning one of my cars yesterday and took a couple of photos that kind of demonstrates some of the intricate and complex lines of the 488’s side. My car is a spider but those side vents are far from ‘plonked’ on, they are carefully (and in my view nicely) fared in. This car shows the aerodynamic flow in its lines, while at the same time incorporating a huge air scoop to feed those turbos, all while being both interesting and beautiful to those who wish to sit and study the detail. The photos are also iPhone pics and as such are still wide angle, the real life is much nicer, but the pics do show some of the detail of that side profile that has caused so much division. Your choice of paint color for the Spider looks wonderful! Good to hear they were able to give you their photographic update. Thank you for sharing your new Spider here; what color for the interior?
My 3 favourite pictures of my car so far... Regards Michael Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I really like looking in the side mirrors when driving and seeing the air intakes, it just looks amazing..........! Regards Michael
Hi Kregu No I'm running summer tyres and it runs just fine, no issues. if you have a read of my post on collecting my car from the factory in this forum, I've tried to give a pretty good write up of the drive and experiences.. I'm not saying summer tyres are as good as winter ones....but we were driving in sleet snow and temps down to -5 for a couple of days and no issues. I put some snow boots/socks on it for one 10 minute period where there was about 4inches of settled snow on a hill and they worked just fine, then took them back off and carried on! Maybe I'm crazy!!! But the the car drove fine, just kept it in wet mode with the bumpy rode set and off we went! Regards Michael
Hi 2 worlds Yep black and white pics are my favourite.....and yep no hiding from the beauty of the lines in black and white- really does as you say show the lines of the car as it's difficult to capture the 488 in a pic as it has a lot of intricate lines Regards Michael
