I personally prefer the skid plate to the additional weight / complexity of the lift system. Naturally a lot of people will disagree here, but of course they all have lifts on their cars... I grew up driving nothing but lowered cars. None of us had lifts back in the 80's or 90's; we all just learned which driveways not to approach and/or to approach at a 45 degree angle when in doubt. I still drive my cars like that - come in at a 45 degree angle to gain some additional clearance. With all my cars (355, 360, 458, 488, etc.) that's how I always drove them. If doing that wouldn't solve the problem, then abort mission and park some place else. But the skid plate is basically just a big ABS plate that bolts under the front lip and then you drag the car across the driveway on that, instead of the body work itself. Works fine, so long as you don't start going off roading in your Ferrari. Ray
I've had some low rides in my day.......... but damn, my 488 is the lowest by far. 2.75" ground clearance.
Agree with Ray! Skid plate on my 458, which is lower than most, and no lift. It takes the ouch out of most touches. Besides, the frunk on the 458 is lowest part of car and while not cheap, nobody sees that underneath. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
