The new P Zero 4 Corsa is the tyre you are talking about. It's close to the old Trofeo R, but more usable in the rain. Of course the new Trofeo R is even quicker.

PS: There is not Sport Cup 4S. I guess you mean Pilot Sport 4S.

These cars use bespoke tyres, not off the shelf ones.

How do you buy new replacement ones? Tire rack? Porsche? Michellin? Ive never heard of bespoke tires before.

You can get them sourced. Depending on the size and code (i.e. K1, N1 etc), all these tyres have been developed for the specific car they were originally fitted on. Two different sizes of the same tyre model with a K1 designation are not necessarily same in terms of construction and compound.

For the 325/30 R21 PSC2 for instance Michelin has two product codes, N0 and N1. N0 is for the 918 and I guess Michelin just released the N1 for the new GT2 RS (which has same rear size).

OK, I've heard from a reliable source that there were some people who have seen the prototype. Can't tell what the name will be but people who have seen it said, the new 488VS will be something very extreme. It has crazy aero features, looks very wild. Power output not known yet. But it will have Titanium Exhaust and Carbon Fiber Wheels!!

Carbon Fiber wheels????? Well, if it is confirmed, Ferrari would be the second company after Koenigsegg to put this on series production model, clearly, crazy aero tricks are necessary to fight the competition. 488VS needs to be really very extreme to move the game on par. Give any info you collect please :)

crazy aero i do believe straight away!
See what is able comparing a normal Gen5 Viper (nearly a toilet on wheels) compared with an ACR with ExtremeAero - or Huracan compared with Performante.
Of course there where also suspension and tires upgrates - but the core advance was reached based on aero.

If CF wheels - hopefully as an extra - I wouldn´t need them. and for sure they would be 10k€+ included in the MSRP or as option.
Maybe we could see first time a "Track / Weissach aka Modena / Extreme" package in the options list.
    containing:
    cf wheels
    super sticky special tires
    rear roll cage
    fancy lightweight body parts
    maybe a (active) rear wing.

Sorry, you're right, anyway, if 488VS would not be limited edition, this will be a real new trend for Supercar industry, thanks for the info though :)) Koenigsegg is maybe the only one producing carbon wheels in their own factory, huge appreciation for best Hypercars maker, love them.

Given the rumours about extreme pack for 488 VS, if they really get tricks from 488 Challenge, maybe we are waiting for a comeback of Challenge Stradale for 488?? Would be best designation if GTO is not used. One thing almost sure, with carbon fibre wheels, likely would be number limited, both coupè and spider.

Officially, 488 Challenge is 1.15.5 at Fiorano, 488 is 1.23.0, Given the weight, aero and tyres for the former and the engine for the latter, maybe a 1.20 is not real madness for a 488VS :)

What are the performance advantages of Carbon Fibre Wheels (other than overall weight reduction) ?

limiting unsprung mass weight is the biggest advantage. Helps with cornering as an bumps n the road are less likely to upset the chassis since the weigh is less. Plus its less weight for the axles/powertrain to spin which helps reduce powertrain loss.

Combine carbon fiber wheels with carbon ceramic brakes and you have really dropped unsprung mass by a lot.

Look at Lamborghini with their new "Forged Composite" in the Huracan Performante. They made the A arms out of compressed carbon fiber which also decreases unsprung mass and plan to make suspension spring out of the material next. Even better is that they are testing piston connecting rods which will lighten up the engine intervals and allow a higher faster raving RPM!

I'm not saying Ferrari should follow Lamborghinis every move because Ferrari is different and that why we love them........but kudos to Lamborghini

Just my unreliable, unscientific and complete guesstimate.

    700 hp (minimum)
    Extreme Aero (Duh)
    Lighter weight (Duh)

    Mega expensive (Duh)
