to be a little more specific, he said cars SOLD from 2019 on......so, the 488GTO/VS could be "sold" in '18, but delivered in '19, and still fall within the guidance.

Well, personally I feel pretty indifferent to new Dino. I think there is just too much hype only because of the name. However what I can say for sure is that I don’t see a business case for a Dino, at least not within the current business model. I would rather see space for a rear mid-engined car filling the gap between 488 and LaF. This gap very much increased with recent model changes.

Totally agree. Would love to see the return of a mode engine 12 cylinder (non supercar).

Nice video, but poor quality. A black turbo powered Ferrari...

I read that they are expecting the upcoming 488VS 'GTO' to be 1700 Spider +2700 GTB..if so should it be quite easy to buy one ? Or the usual run around with previous buying history etc.

This is almost 50% of total annual production.

Where did you read that ? Those figures seem v unlikely - I'd guess (no proof) more likely to be closer to 1800 GTB and 700 spiders .... my 1.9 cents worth

I don't think anyone at this point knows how many will be made. When I did Atelier at Maranello in February 2015, I was specifically told there would be 1,800 458 Speciales, then came another round of allocations and the production run last longer than expected. So even that particular exec at Ferrari was wrong. My guess is around 2500 458 Speciales.

Good question, someone on that other thread has asked him to provide the source....

If the numbers turn out to be in that ball park.it might restrict some of the speculation/flippers that screw up the market.

This will not be a limited run like a Tdf. Ferrari is all about the bottom line today, for themselves, not their clients, and they will make enough for most demand, like with the Speciale.

I am sure it will be a success for them; however, in the long run for owners I think less of a secondary/tertiary market than the Speciale.
I am like most owners I know: successful, enthusiast, weekend drives with friends, road trips, occasional track events. We don't need faster and faster cars for the sake of speed. We are not "internet racers." We want and enjoy cars with emotional content. On drives through the country it isn't about 80-150 mph rolling races. We are respected members of our communities.
I don't need a car that goes 0-62 mph in 2.2 seconds or top speed of 220 mph.
My Speciale, 16M, and F12 are MORE than fast enough.
My 458 Spider is the perfect car for a sunny drive with friends.
I will be looking for "emotional" cars for my collection...964 Porsche, 512 Boxer, maybe 355 Spider with a manual, etc...

I do agree with the notion that we already have plenty of speed potential, but most owners continue to be influenced by numbers, it's probably more psychological than practical.......I'm not really concerned with what they build......as long as it isn't an SUV. (But I may be in the minority on that point.)

Well written! However, we all are aware of that, the new-car market doesn't work like this. A Speciale with the 405hp-engine of a Challenge Stradale would have been unsellable. I dare to say, your attitude is a matter of getting older (do not get me wrong, I see it like you.). Everyone goes through the phase of faster, stronger, better and newer. But at some point you ask yourself, what is this all about?

This is Ferrari's target market........the people who move out of this phase, not so much. They do what they need to do to sell cars, we do what we need to do to make us happy.......all is good while those elements are in sync but there comes a point for some when those two diverge and someone takes your spot in the future allocation hierarchy.

Even putting aside speed/power considerations, there are numerous areas like handling that improve immensely from one generation to the next. For example 4WS will be a game changer from f12/ff to 812/lusso. I think there are significant percentage of owners who track their cars at least occasionally, nothing wrong if you don't of course.

nothing is sure in this world my friend......wait and see!! but why you make comments on me if you don't know me??
if you have more information please share

for your knowledge, in the automotive business it is normal to receive a indicative number of how many car will be produced (based on the life of the model) coz on this number all investment and quotations are based

personally I don't care how much they will produce.....may be speculators care more.....if I will like it I will try to get one, if no I will be more than happy with my std 488 Spider

    "coz" ??
Absolutely nothing personal; however when someone uses language like this the likelihood of being a true "Ferrari insider" is doubtful and hence the credibility factor drops to absolute zero.

Agree! The Fiorano lap times do not lie. F12 tdf is second only to the LaFerrari........will the 488 GTO beat the F12 tdf. Its got 2 seconds to make up and 4 on the LaFerrari

I know perfectly well what "coz" is slang for, my point is Ferrari Insiders, specifically those those pretending to have access to secret stats, don't use slang.
Using "coz" makes your credibility zero.
    'nuff said.
