So you expect it to cost more than a 812? ($315K from what I read)
That would be a first for a V8 VS to exceed the price of the V12 flagship.

"Speciale" was my favourite name. This one will be (I think) GTO, as they have to erase the bad use they did of that name with the 599 GTO, that was a great car, but not enough to deserve the GTO name. This 488 looks another world of car and definitely deserves this glorious name, in my opinion

Wasn't the base of the speciale like 310 or something along those lines? I don't think somewhere between 320 and 350 is out of whack .

So funny always the question how many HP.

I am pretty sure 99% of us here will never, never feel the limit of this car, or?

They need to have a relationship with Ferrari as a magazine - in the world of you scratch my back and I scratch yours, there is a limit to what they can speculate beyond reporting what's already out there. I don't think they are "out of it"as you make out. As for price, they do say "a significant increase".

Same thing happened last year with the 812. The first to report details was motor1 which I think is related to Fchat, and they lifted the info from a post by challenge64. Then everybody else reported it by reference to it.

I am not quite sure where I said 'out if it'? I agree there is a relationship but it's not just an F chat exclusive that knows there is a dealer launch underway. Apparently it is all over social media as a start, let alone comments from hundreds of dealers as clearly no ones phone was blanked off or withheld during the launch.

As to price, they really seem equally misinformed, as whilst I accept they say there will be a significant increase over the GTB, no way does more than £215k qualify as significant given the base price is about £200k.

Talked to a reliable source who confirmed the car will be named LaMarchionne.

I think the base price will be at least 320 K euro, means 100+ k more than the standard 488 : if they charge you 4500 euro for the passenger additional display, I can't even imagine how much they will ask for the carbon fiber rims and all that carbon fiber the car has... ;)

Found an old web article that says $288K for the Speciale.
French price was €237K while the F12 was €273K at the same time (the standard 458 was €203K then).
Current french prices are €288K for the 812 and €220K for the 488 GTB (actually about €20K more on each to include all new taxes); $350K is €286K and $320K is €262K, which seems a possible bracket indeed.

    OK here we go again:)

Just had a long talk with my dealer...

It 's certain that it won't be called GTO. Name and technical details (HP) still unknown:mad:
No active air brake in the rear. But quite big fixed rear spoiler
Very aggressive aero ducts in the front, rear and sides
Lithium battery and Titanium exhaust, possibly as options

Now the bad news. It will not be sold as the Speciale meaning that it will be considered sort of a limited edition car. Meaning Ferrari will decide who will get the car or not. They will send the dealers their allocations next Monday, name by name. In other words Ferrari will send the dealers the names of "eligible" buyers and dealers will then offer the cars to those on the list. This the way they will handle my market. it could be different for different countries, different markets. So I will know if I can get one next week

    Good Luck Everyone...

Not quite correct - the dealers know the criteria and will forward their eligible customers who want the car to Ferrari. The decision will be made in Maranello and the dealers informed.
