I love my 2017 488 Spider and the only issue I have is music streaming. When I plug in my iPod touch I get error saying unreadable most of the time, while occasionally works flawless. It only works about 10% of the time which is the problem. I tried several cords and several iPods and get the same issue. My car does not have CarPlay option. I see some threads about Bluetooth adaptors or wired USB adapters for 458’s but little mention of 488 options.

I simply want to plug in and stream music from any device! Has anyone found an aftermarket cable adaptor (my prior F430 had this and it worked great). If anyone had luck with a car audio store custom upgrade let me know!

I’m surprised it doesn’t connect via Bluetooth. My iphone/media connects via Bluetooth and I can stream or play my downloaded music without any wires. Sometimes it is connected but won’t play. When that occurs, I switch it to radio then switch it back to media and then it plays.

Not all iPod touch have bluetooth.

I have the same problem with bluetooth and like you, switching to radio and back to media restores the sound.

All are, except for the first generation. I don't know which generation the OP has though. Having said that, Gen 2, 3 & 4 only had bluetooth 2.1 with Gen 5 & 6 adopting Bluetooth 4. I don't know what minimum bluetooth version the 488 works with.

Thx all. My Bluetooth will not connect to any of my devices. It did once briefly. I actually prefer plugging in and streaming and not musing Bluetooth. I don’t make calls from the car either.

I spoke to a local car audio shop that is known for working on vehicles such as Ferrari. They have seen my exact issue and have a solution. I will show them the car next week and follow up when I have this resolved.
