I dare say its illegal not to have the front number plate on the car in every country. Over here its worse as its not the fine im worried with its the loss of points from your licence.
I could risk it and have the Carbonio in the frunk and try to persuade the cop i washed the car and forgot it.
But ild rather not draw attention from the cops.
Ive googled high and low and what i can see is only 2 alternatives.
Carbonio and Car Shine ( Australia )
    Which would you prefer ?

Image Unavailable, Please Login Placement of the front license plate on the 488 makes a huge difference to how the car looks IMO. For those markets where leaving the plate off is not an option then it needs some investigating....

In addition to the two you mention, I have also seen the attached which is the neatest that i have seen - it seems to sit below the front bumper but I don’t know what make of bracket it is or indeed how it attaches to the car as it seems to sit clear of the front bumper ?

Maybe contacting the Dutch ferrari dealer and asking the question will yield some more info?

If its sitting of the bumper I dare say there must be a bracket bolted/screwed to the front central splitter. I have a small number plate and mounting that way I feel comfortable as returning it to OEM would only need to replace that unpainted part front central splitter

Are you suggesting Ferrari Australia doesn't put front plates on the cars it sells? Why don't you ask your dealer?

That's probably 99.9999% of cars. It's painful, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I truly don't see the issue here Mandalay. I mean who are you saving the bumper for? The plate has to be worn so just fit it where you want it and move on.

Having a look at all the aussie cars for sale the number plate basically is put anywhere vertically in the centre of the bumper. Obviously due to the fact Ferrari doesn't put a location.

My view im just going to get the Carbonio for now until I get something designed the way I would like it

I have been using the Carbonio unit since I got my 488 over a year ago.
Very pleased with how it works.

It's in my country ... and very illegal ... too small and not correct ...

But it may be just enough for a nice policeofficer .... :)

Our efforts to design a plate mounting solution came from living in a place where front license plates are required. Regrettably fitting a plate is always a compromise and in North America our plates are pretty big compounding the problem. Ferrari does supply the 488 with a small metal bracket that needs to be drilled into the bumper and even then it blocks the front camera (should your vehicle be fitted with it).

In addition plate placement is tricky because the front park sensors are pretty sensitive to the placement of the plate. While never ideal (only no plate would be ideal) our mount does do a neat job of fitting a front plate while making no damage and while offering a fast remove option. Lots of our customers just drive around with the plate in the boot pulling it out only as a quick roadside fix for the police. This always seems to work and gives you the best of both worlds as most police officers do not accept placing a plate in the windshield. They do however buy the excuse that you removed the plate to attend a car show (in order to keep your privacy from cameras) and that you merely forgot to put it on when you left.

A license plate doesn't provide identifying information. All the billionaires I know drive with license plates.

Austrian license plates should be the same size as the entirety of Europe.
