The most boost that I've experienced in my 488 is 15 psi. The boost increases a bit in the higher gears, and in each gear the boost reading fills all of the bars in the circular display so it appears to be the maximum boost that the display is anticipating for that gear. On the other hand, some publications -- before the 488 was actually introduced -- said the boost was going to be in the high 20's psi. My car is a U.S. model, and Euro models might be somewhat higher due to different gasoline. I think that Ferrari designed the turbos for response rather than max boost, which makes a lot of sense.

    What have you experienced?

I believe this was discussed a few months ago. What was said then, was the most saw 14-15 psi and that the pressure was measured at each turbo, not the combined pressure of both.

But hey, they also said the car redlined at 8k...

Put the car on a Mustang dyno and see what it puts out on the flywheel if you're in doubt. Be aware that Mustang dynos don't paint anything in rosy colours - what you see is what you get.

Thank you. The car is really fast (much faster than the 458 that it replaced), and seems to be running properly. I was just curious about the boost readings (I did most of the readings on hot days, which might have had an effect.)

I'm told that the car will redline in 7th gear at 8000 -- but I don't expect to ever have the opportunity to verify that.

I found the older thread. The most that the OP there saw was 14 psi. I was able to see 15 psi in 5th and 6th gears, but not the lower gears.

It's really difficult to look down when the full boost is on.

Do you know the scene in Star Trek when the USS Enterprise goes into warp drive and the stars turn into streaks? That's second gear.
