So, you all agree the total production number will be 500/700 pcs?
I believe my dealer is getting 5 spiders. Based on aperta numbers, I would speculate the number to be more like 1,000.
It really depends on the length of the production run. If the assumptions in my post prove true then it could be in that region, though 1,000 units could also be right depending on how many coupe v Spider they decide to build during the run. Most likely 488 production in all variants would continue until Q2/3 2019 if the new car is shown at Geneva. It’s interesting that 5 seems to be a common allocation number. I think there are less than 100 dealers worldwide but a number will be larger than our dealer so I would guess somewhere between 500 and 1,000 allocations have been given out currently.
Maybe because they don’t know exactly how long production will be (new car not yet fully developed/signed off). Or maybe the new (and very expensive) Icona series is numbered and they may want that as a benefit solely for those cars to help justify the price? Plus if they can produce any proportion of coupe v Spider they decide there is still some room to alter percentages. It’s all guessing though.
So , for what i have understood , serena that the new policy for the LE cars will be only linked to very small productions items ( less than 300 ) and very high price ( Auchan ad SP1 and sp2 ) .
Thank you very much for you very well detailed answer, but again... if they will produce only 500/700 pista spider why don’t make them Numbered (LE ) ?
My guesses about that are in post #256 Edit: there is one other reason I can think of - what benefit to them is a numbered car? It drives demand. But their demand is off the scale already, so why bother with a numbered car? The drawbacks for Ferrari are that it takes effort, it limits your options in production (if you want to produce less or more you can’t without criticism), so why do they need to bother?
I see your point.... and if near the end of the year they will tell us that Pista Spider will be numbered ? Who knows... we will see !
Here are some pictures I managed to get last night at the F1 cocktail party. This is the car I would like but alas, no chance. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sloppy race craft has not helped Vettel's cause and Lewis by comparison seems to have a laser focus on winning!
Yes COTA seems to be owned by Hamilton and now Vettel has this............. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/vettel-grid-penalty-us-gp-ferrari/3198159/ They were talking about how important the first five minutes of the race is last night in the talk...... Geez.
Does anyone has the pista spider personalisation programme brochure? I have the one for the pista but have not seen the one for the spider so far... Thanks in advance!
Ferrari will never beat Mercedes under Arrivabene, for one of many examples, just look at the tire strategy he used for the last qualifying set at the Japanese GP. Hilarious with all the BS posts being posted here back and forth with nothing but speculation. Lukey writes it, Leopoldo eats it up.
Are you seriously trying to say Vettel has been better than his team? By the way, I am rarely in the position to support Ferrari since I follow drivers and Lewis is the guy I am supporting. I loved his driving style since he debuted in 07. He is a genuine star - Alonso puts him in his top 5 of all time. The last time I really wanted Ferrari to win was Mansell, nearly 30 years ago. Would have loved Senna to have driven for them. I’ll ignore the BS comment.
Many thanks! I am still hesitating on the final specs for my spider... first world problem but still...
