Imagine the 488 Spyder in Pista version with dedicated livery and wheels/rims......really like them color combination is really ok, not my cup of tea IMHO. But not a specific color if you are waiting for it (something already saw before if finally they bring the car I was told). I can say not Rosso Corso and Grigio N I have read in some others post that Pista can’t be ordered white with stripes......it seems Ferrari with PPG developed a new bi-component paint technology called Low Cure Clear Coats “Con questa soluzione è possibile verniciare componenti in fibra di carbonio e compositi insieme al corpo vettura, garantendo così l’uniformità dei colori tra le parti della carrozzeria.” https://www.motorionline.com/2018/08/01/ferrari-prima-al-mondo-ad-adottare-la-nuova-verniciatura-a-bassa-temperatura/ I can’t imagine/wait driving Pista with open roof or just with the back windows down
Curious to know your opinion if Ferrari had carbon tub like mac and there is NO difference in driving dynamics from coupe to spider except for 50kg which you wont feel when you're driving
This new technology makes the color of the car even more uniform in the combinations of body materials, such as aluminum for the body and the carbon fiber hood. If you pay attention to almost all the colors of the ferrari, you can see a difference in the paint between the metal and the plastic materials. This new low-temperature technology should compensate for this problem
That looks fake to me. It looks like someone took a Rosso 488 and then changed the color to yellow and didn't do such a good job and then also the way they lined up the "Aperta", it is not artfully done and I think they would do a better job on the sign. Also look at the edges of the rear wing, a bit sloppy PS work. I also wonder if Ferrari might stick an "Aperta" badge on the rear as they did on the 458 Speciale Aperta. However, this PS might give us a little bit of an idea. It will be soon enough, I'm excited to see the official pics!
Had a 650S Spyder and was an amazing car. So that might sway me if Ferrari did the same. I just have this thing about Speciale/Pista cars being true to form i.e. coupes. So at this stage would still stay with a coupe
Just saw the car at Casa Ferrari! Amazing evening at a private dinner and showing. You will all have to wait until Saturday When the car will debut!
I'm really suprised the aperta is released so quickly after the coupe... between the Scuderia and the 16M , and between the Speciale and Speciale A there was more than a year !!!
The 488 spider was also released very quickly after the GTB, there was far less time between both than between the 458 Italia and spider or F430 and spider. First 488 GTB were delivered in September and first 488 Spiders by the end of the same year (2015). The Pista and Pista Aperta are more aligned with the 488 than with the previous models.
Sort of makes sense. I rather Ferrari build great cars that a reasonable number of committed owners can buy. Limited numbers attract speculators who don’t drive the cars. The final production might be little different but the approach might be helpful to the brand. Perhaps.
It's always exciting when a new Ferrari debuts, whether I'm personally interested or not. Can't wait to see this car.
