    Hi all,

I have recently been enamored with the 488 pista and kept contemplating changing my daily f12 to a pista. My main concerns were daily drivability, character, and how easy it and often I could use it.

I started to inquire in some vehicles, but I didn’t know and didn’t want to regret a purchase.

so I booked a flight to Vegas and rented the pista at dream racing for a number of laps among other cars for perspective. After the test drive. I was elated.

It was the best $2k I spent this year. I loved the car. It was soo gorgeous. And way better on track and lower than the f12 even though HP
    Number was similar.

However after driving it hard. It is so fast, but the greatest nuance and surprise I experienced was the shifts. They made it pretty violent and eventful(not a bad thing but for dd..) With it so fast, it is different than my gt3 and I think I would enjoy it for occasional days on track
    But not regularly.

Once I was finished. My months of debate, car searching, and contemplation was answered. I can’t use it the way I use my f12 daily. It is an event car. It is so beautiful, but I know I won’t get the joy of dailying the pista and likely sit in my garage too often as I admire its lines.

Once I got back, I immediately contacted my rep and put in my interest for the coming soon 812 replacement
And can’t wait to build it.

maybe just maybe I n the future I will add the pista as an addition to the fleet. But until then, I know I’ll enjoy the mid front engine v12 chassis and drivability at least few days a week to work without so much attention the pista will generate in a sleepy Midwest town.

I still love the pista and want one. But I have to get what I can enjoy more often for now.

    thanks for reading

  2. Congrats on a well considered decision.

Any intel on what the replacement for the 812 will be?

We all know about the internet rumors, but as they say, rumors are just the ramblings of unemployed teenagers in their mom's basement with high-speed internet ...

Appreciate the post. I have been contemplating streamlining my garage and selling my F12 and GT3 and consolidating into a Pista or F8 (I know) but I often think I would be giving up too much.

I would make that consolidation all day 100%- but I bet most here wouldn’t.

I'd swap the F12 for the F8 or Pista. Then swap the GT3 for a 911 Turbo S. I think this would put you where you'd want to be.

No idea, just a reveal expected this year. And expect to spend same amount for the new 812 replacement as the pista. Around $500k.

Yes, I too contemplated for a long time. Do the test drive like I did. You will get your answer clearly. It will save you many hours of thinking. Lol Maybe it is worth it for you.

I love the track and go often, and the pista is not a realistic heavy track use car compared to gt3 w consumables and let alone track insurance.

my main concern was daily drivability. I did not want to compromise on where and how often I can drive my car. Also being in a smaller Midwest city. Dailying a Ferrari is already a stretch. The pista was gonna be borderline absurd. And I can’t see driving hours with it on trips and travel.

Yeah that is the thing. I love the track-focused nature and excitement of the GT3 but I do not track. I also live walking distance from my office and drive my cars only on the weekends so daily drivability isn't really a necessity. Recently moved to South Florida and while I love both cars I do not really have time to enjoy both all the time which is factoring into my consideration of merging the two into one. I know I would probably miss the NA engines in both the F12 and GT3 but I wonder how quickly I could get over that. You are right I should probably look into a rental to see how I feel. I would probably know within the first mile.

If I was in your situation and limited seat time and plenty of exotics in s florida. I would trade and get a pista. It’s such an badass car and the shifts are fun for weekend. This is from a f12 putting 8k/year and 992 gt3 owner. Get the pista!

And in a strong color. I was going to get a silver or dark gray since where I am. Ferraris are not so common. And to make it a pista. Lol.
