Hi, I am looking to install front skid plates on my 488 spider. Does anyone have experience with this brand (https://www.scrapearmor.com/products/scrape-armor-front-bumper-protection-ferarri-488?variant=50292934471¤cy=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq7XM2tKI5AIVRh6GCh0Mygx6EAQYASABEgL9Y_D_BwE) on their car? Any recommendations on who can install in NY tri-state area / expected cost. Many thanks.
My local Indy made a patter off my 458 & installed it for around $400 about ~4 years ago. It has saved me some scrapes. The one you show for the 488 looks more refined.
Those look nice. However, keep in mind that in some cases the area which actually takes a hit (and ends up scratched) is further back from where those skid plates attach. If you look at my picture below, I've marked the area which is most prone to scraping on the 488. Protection on the forward area is great, but due to the angles under there on the 488, usually the portion further back (marked in purple) is where you drag and scrape. I think the skid plate companies have basically just used what worked on the 458 (protection for the forward area) and jumped it over to their 488 design without much real world testing. However, due to the subtle design differences in the 488 front end, what worked fine on the 458 doesn't really work as well when it comes to protecting the 488. Ray Image Unavailable, Please Login
