What are yours and how do your tyres perform? Iv got Michelin Pilot super sports 29psi rear 30psi front Gary Tarmac
Your hot pressures are much more telling. Try them at 32 psi squared hot. Hot meaning go for a drive like you normally would, pull over at a service station and set the pressures. When you set your pressures, do not rely on the TPMS system. Use a proper quality gauge. With your cold pressures at 30/29, you are probably close. If 29/30 are the correct pressures. Why does the inside door jamb sticker say 30 psi front and back? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Good question. I wondered this myself, and I had a look at the owners manual. The owner’s manual has more specific pressure recommendations. I am left to theorize the door jam sticker is a good general pressure but if you want to get down to 1/10th PSI then you should be looking at the manual. And I would agree with Il Co-Pilota above, most Ferraris seem happiest around the 32 PSI squared when the tires are warm- you may wish to tweak this for local conditions. So set it there with a real gauge when on the road and then when home let the car sit for several hours - overnight if possible- and check the cold pressures. Write it down and now you know. The TPMS I have noticed in my 488 reads around 2psi LOW. My Longacre gauge is calibrated and read what one of my other cars TPMS system says and is close to another car in my garage. I had my gauge checked a while ago against an accurate device. Anyway my 488 reads low. I wonder if all do or? I set my pressure cold in my garage. I have learned with this car that the front left-driver side heats up..build up more psi than the front right side by around .5psi so when hot I adjust for that. Keep in mind that when air temps change so will your tires pressure so you will need to adjust for that too. Run the cold pressure Ferrari suggests but I highly recommend a high quality digital gauge that reads in 10ths of psi like a Longacre or a Intercomp gauge.
