These repeated posts about the 458/488 vs whatever always tickle me. It just reminds me I made the right choice of a vehicle when you always have people posting videos of another car beating it in a drag race. I went over to the Lambo site to see if there were similar posts and there were none on the first 5 pages of the Gallardo and Huracan forums. I'm sure there are but it seems like a constant thing on the 458 forum.

So maybe its just people enjoy messing with Ferrari or 458 owners because its considered one of the best in the world. Of course I don't know the OP's or others intentions for posting so I'm not attacking or judging. I actually have a smile on face as I post this. Please carry on!

No way a 911 turbo s will beat the 488 from a roll race. The 488 is on par with the Mclaren 650s from a roll. I had a 12c and it would kill a 911 turbo s from a roll. I've also owned many Porsches and I agree the turbo s is fast but not that fast especially from a roll. The 488 has more hp/tq and is lighter. The awd of the turbo s really isn't that much of a benefit over a rear wheel drive car from a roll race. Certainly not enough to overcome the hp/tq advantage of the Ferrari.

My post was not meant to downplay the performance of the 488 vs the 991 turbo. I just thought it was an interesting video. I do have a 458 and I still think the 488 is a better performing car, to the point that I might consider one in the future among other options

I owned my 458 and 911 TTS at the same time and raced them a few times. From a dig, the TTS crushed the 458, at least out of the hole. From a role, it was very close with the TTS having the early edge and the 458 pulling strong toward the end of the half mile for almost a dead tie. The quarter mile times were also very close.

Once I tuned my TTS, the gig was over. 458 didn't have a chance.

My guess is the 488 will crush a stock TTS and hang with my tuned TTS. The highly tuned TTS's will crush a 488, but so what. I'm absolutely positive a tuned 488 will crush a tuned TTS. There's no end to what can be done with bolt on's and tunes.

All this being said, the Ferrari is by the far the most exiting, exhilarating, and visceral, car to drive! Can't wait for my 488!

You guys grossly overestimate the 911 (991) TT. It is a lot slower than the 488 and actually it is slower than the Speciale too.

    http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel5623-6169.htm

This particular 991 was most definetely tuned. Either that, or the 488's driver was an idiot...

Hate to rain on the parade, but frankly who cares about these meaningless drags between forced induction cars where horsepower is a dial up commodity.

Total BS comparison. Either the 488 driver can't drive worth a dam or Ferrari forgot to install the turbos in the 488. You would get the same results if the Turbo raced a Honda Civic. ;)

Nice video rsm. The huracan does well vs the 911 tts. I think the 488 will beat the 610-4 and will be close vs the 911 tts.

Would love to see these video's. One thing I can assure you is that the 488 will kill the TTS and beat the Huracan all being stock or course.

Here's my race against a Huracan with race exhaust. I had exhaust and a GIAC tune. He would have beat me if I we're stock. Actual race starts at 2:50 on the video.

Very nice run. You had quite a lead from the beginning. How much HP does your tts have? That tune must have been significant.

But the 991 Turbo sounds like, well, a 911 turbo six cylinder with turbos muffling the combustion. All you hear is the rushing exhaust gas flow and almost no combustion sounds.

I will take my 458 any day. The 488 still sounds like a Ferrari

I owned three 911 Turbos (89, 01, 06) and there is no comparison to a Ferrari.

FYI my turbo S has Techart ECU upgrade along with BMC filters and Capristo Exhaust. No doubt If you launch the turbo it will beat the 488 upto 170k after that I'm sure the 488 will walk it. I definitely feel my stock 488 is faster than my tuned 991 turbo S.

Definitely looks like the guy in the Huracan was sleeping on launch! There is no way the difference is that big. I have raced both cars ... the Huracan and turbo S have great traction off the line. Considering the turbo S in my video also had ECU exhaust and filter. Huracan had race exhaust only. They were neck to neck on a standing start!

Not that it matters, but how did you reach that conclusion? From everything I've seen, the 488 and 650 will be very very close. Am I missing something???

Did the 650s not also easily outpull the Aventador, or did I miss that ?

It did, but so what? My tuned 911 TTS beats all of those cars as well, and I expect my 488 will be dead even with my 911 TTS.
