I am surprised there is so much variance between a 488 and Huracan. I thought the 488 would be a bit more competitivly priced. I can get a 2016 Huracan for 300k (CAD), vs 488 = 380k (CAD)
In Australia the 488 is apparently around $60,000 cheaper then the 458 was when it released. The 488 is selling (with no options) now at about $470,000. I played with the options on the coupe recently and the dealer quoted me just over $550,000 with over a year of wait time (I didn't even choose coloured stitching!). Now in Australia I can get a 2015 model Lambo H for around $420,000 drive-away with balance of new car warranty + race seats + reversing camera + carbon interior + coloured stitching + a few other toys included with under 2,000 miles on the clock. If I were to get a 488 Spider I'd have to wait over 2 years to get it and (with the options I want) cost me a bit over $600,000 for it delivered. They will have no trouble selling them I think but a I don't see the 488 as (on money-for-money terms) a competitor for the Lamborghini Huracan or McLaren 570S (which are both over $100,000 cheaper with more options included and just as fast). I fear the depreciation on the 488 will be more savage compared to the 458 over time too especially since the 488 replacement will surely best its performance by a good margin + introduce a more radical new design language. Ferrari - to me - seem to stick with one particular design language for two generations. e.g. 360 > 430 look similar, then they replaced the 430 with the 458 and that looked completely different. Now they replaced the 458 with the 488 and that looks similar, so next I assume the 488 replacement will look totally different. For these reasons Im leaning towards getting a 458 Spider instead of 488 and keeping it until the 488 replacement Spider comes around, then deciding to upgrade or not.
A base Huracan is $468k drive away and a base 488 is $504k. And yet the 488 is quicker to 200km/h than a 4wd aventador sv - I think the 488 is actually very good value compared to its competition.
My mistake - sorry about that. $468k is before on-roads. I didn't know the 488 was faster than the Lamborghini Aventador SV 0-200km/h? Wow. Must be those turbo's. In my opinion I'm a roadster/spider kind of guy, and so a 2+ year wait is too long for me for a new 488 Spider which will depreciate like a bomb. In that 2 year period I'd rather save a bit more and get an already slightly depreciated Aventador roadster (for the V12) and/or a 458 Spider (which should be between $280-$350k in 2 years). I'd like the latest-and-greatest, but I can deal with a generation behind.
What would be the rough price for alcantara inserts and alcantara lower dashboard? Looking at 112,000$ in options so far..
I ordered the Alcantara inserts on seats, door panels and lower dash. But have no idea how much they are going to be. All the spider pricing is a mystery but should be similar to GTB options. When I finalized my order, the Alcantara had just become an available option from the factory. That was January.
As long as buyers continue to line up begging them to take their money, then Ferrari will keep charging for items that should be standard. In addition, they will keep charging obscene prices for other optional items.
I believe that in the US every car is required to have a rear camera. The buyer doesnt have a choice about it. Im sure FNA has blendedthe cost into the USA MSRP
Mine was 288k and I just got some interior CF. most of these cars have 80 to 100k worth of options on them. Porsche is about as bad.
I am not sure that is the case. When I was selecting options I had to choose this one. It could have changed. The '18 model did rise by 10k in price from the '17.
New buyer curious about the price list posted above on the excel spreadsheet. Is that a fairly current list? It says effective 2015 and guessing some variance included. Does that include all options available or only a partial listing of it? Does anyone have a pdf of a current list from dealers?
Life is too short , if you can get it now , I highly recommend you do. Ever since the 355 i said the next , then the next. IT WAS ALWAYS MISSING SOMETHING, then the 488 AND BANG . LOVE IT on order , 10 months to go. Wait yes but its all about the whole experience. And yes the other cars are cheaper but they aint a Ferrari. But look at the for sale cars and see the massive difference if the other brand volume. Gee there is only about 5, 488 GTB for sale at any one time. Its not the States
Not sure if this will be helpful, but here's a price list for an F8. As far as I'm aware, only the base price has been increased by $10,000. The option prices should still be valid.
I have just updated the original 488 Option List xls file with 11 additional options. I don't have prices for everything. Out of interest, can anyone beat my option list at $147.7k
