Sink hole comes to mind. No, really, thanks for posting. I had seen it earlier but the photos scared me too much. I wonder if they'll throw the trailer in. I suspect this one will not go home on her own power. I may be wrong but probably not.
Are my eyes playing tricks on me or did someone really remove the back seat and put in 2 big speakers? Here are a couple of pictures of it from last September: . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought the same thing but couldn't say for sure thru all the fuzz. That engine has some major cosmetic issues (not to mention unknown mechanical) but I could really use that washer bag, it's the best looking part in there.
So, does this car run and drive or not? I am unclear why it would be a parts car when the owner seems to suggest it runs and drives?
Are you confused?? Just joking. LOL For $11,000., something must be up with it. As mentioned many times before, if these cars aren't 'at least' semi-sorted, they'll bust your bank acct. big time & will be worth less that 1/2 what you put into it when you're finished restoring......which means you are a diehard lover of these babies regardless of $$$ invested. There are a couple of owners here that own multiple 365/400's & they're probably 'the only' diehards, @ which point this one would satisfy the parts availability issue.
Mitch, Lets assume it runs and drives as the owner claims it does (mind you he claims to have spent money to get it running but has never driven it besides around the parking lot - this is a little strange unless it needs more work). Consider the following: - The engine should still be gone though thoroughly, think many hours or many dollars. (lets be optimistic and assume it is basically sound thus budget $3.5K for the minor work and parts) -The tires need replacing - they are very old - $2k for new metric tires or buy new 16" rims and normally priced tires ~$2.5k. -The tranny is weak, this isn't a big deal as it is a GM TH400; probobly $1k-$2k rebuilt and reinstalled, cheaper if you do the install (as far as I know the tranny does not come out through the interior of the car like it does on my 330GT) -Front suspension budget $5k I will bet this needs doing, it may cost more than this. -Rear suspension budget $3k. -Brakes, they work but were they really done, I would leave $1.5k to make sure they will always work -Exhaust has issues, $2k- $3k for a new one. -Misc mechanical $2k -front seats are shot, owner claims the rear is OK, find used seats for $2k or new leather for $2 - $4k. -radio $100 - $750 depending on how much you care... -AC, at least $1k probobly a lot more. -new fog lights (missing from car) $300 - $500 on ebay -Misc details $2k (electricals have been messed with) So, if you buy this car, it will cost you $20k - $30k on top of the purchase price to have a nice $22.5k car. Note: I am taking the owner at his word that there is no rust - I would want to confirm this prior to proceeding. Having said all that, I think this would make a great long term DIY project! Regards, Art S. PS. I suspect that Brett will buy it to add to his fleet.
If anyone on this forum buys the car for parts, please contact me. I see at least one piece that I need that is not a "wear" part but is just missing from mine. Brett, you buying?? Ken
sorry guys, but i didn't go after this one...i was busy wrapping up another 365 deal and getting things in order at the Buffalo warehouse. fo you Jim, that means you'll have some carbs on the way up to you. your car is really going to be fantastic. it's condition is really, really great.
