May be we need to find out what else Yugos have. Might just be that special alternator that only fits Yugos and 308/328s. Could be big money in those tin cans :D

It becomes big money the moment you stamp a horsey logo on it. :)

Participants of this event who bring a Ferrari will receive one of these commemorative plaques. The graphic design was courtesy of Tom Voegeli, aka Mobius Entwine on FChat.

John liked them so much he posted twice!

Looks like I'm going to have to get a job, so I can add to the coffers of the FOC to pay for them!

Andreas, they look wonderful. thank you! :)

    For the latest update...
Thanks to the young gentlemen of Boy Scout Troop 109 from Woodridge, IL. for donations of hotdogs, chili and supplies. Add to that - I finally got confirmation that Jewel Foods will again donate this year. Looks like we will have plenty of grub for a good ol fashioned feeding frenzy. :)

My family also received some very patriotic items for the free raffle at the end of the show...very neat and we cant wait to hand them out.

Only a few more weeks left.

Thanks again Andreas, they really do look superb!

    Haley,
If you have not yet hired a DJ, I would be more than happy to donate my time and services for this show. I also have 3 pair of tickets to donate to attend a concert for Operation Support Our Troops. Gary Sinese & his Lt. Dan Band, Dennis Miller and Big John Howell will be this years line up.

    Please let me know,
    Kerry

Kerry, thank you so much! I talked with the Community Affairs Officer and it is all set. The concert tickets will be a welcome addition as well for the free raffle at the end of the car show.

I will also put Double K on the donations board and if you like, I can put your biz cards into each goodie bag that gets handed out.

Thank you again for everything, we will see you in a few weeks. :)

    My best,

    Haley

Andreas, the weather seems to be looking great for us. My Anti Rain dance looks to be working again this year :) Good to hear your car is looking good as well.

Directions for those who may need them:
    Tri-State I-94.
Exit Buckley Road. (Rt. 137 East)
Continue past Hwy. 41 and past Green Bay Rd. (Rt. 131)
Next Stop light (Lewis Ave.) turn right (South) into main entrace.
Pass through "Avenue of Flags" and turn right at "T" intersection.
Follow main road through campus to car show parking area.
    Signage will be posted.

    Address 3001 Green Bay Road
    North Chicago IL 60064.

    Updates:
I will be picking up hot dogs AND brats this Friday, getting the goodie bags packed and making final preparations here at the hospital.

The Navy Corpsman School is invited as are the Marines in the area. Setting up tents today and getting the names of the oldest and youngest Veterans here for the Parade honors to ride in The Emp's Roller. :)

This year the North Chicago Police will help in traffic control after the parade so vehicles dont have to sit and wait so long for the green light to leave at the entrance.

My family is ready for grilling duty again and they are working to get their cars ready as well. My brother is not sure about bringing the car I bought him because of ruined paint, but I told him it is neat and rare these days. (Rescued 71 Maverick Grabber) Chelle worked hard on the engine and it screams now (imagine that). ;)

It all seems to be coming together pretty good, Should be a fun time for all. If folks have any questions or concerns, please feel free to message me and I will get back to you ASAP.

Thanks all and see you in a few days!

    My best,

    Haley

Registration Starts at 11am. Some folks come earlier and are welcome to do so if they wish. The grill will start up around 11:15am - 11:30am.

The Veterans will be served lunches and then will be escorted out. Meals are at different times on the wards, so the times vary on when they will come out. Some come out earlier than others and eat the hot dogs, but as a general rule they will start to come out around 12:30pm.

With that, it depends if car owners would like the comp. hots dogs, brats, chips and such while they last. Also, the later folks arrive, the further away from the center of activity the car will be parked.

The best time I would say is between 11 - 11:30am for food and to try to have minimal vehicle movement while the Vets are out and about.

Thanks for a wonderful day. Chelle's last count-as best she could tell was 168 vehicles!

Our Veterans really had a great time, lots of people had mentioned that this year they looked very happy and into the whole event.

Food and refreshments (Thank you Boy Scouts!) lasted the whole day and the music was fantastic, lots of compliments on everything (Thank You Kerry @ Double K!)

I wish I could have chatted more with everyone but was running around most of the day, and I am pretty beat so I am off to sleep.

    Pictures will be posted soon.

Thanks to Andreas AND ALL, I do appreciate everything.

    Semper Fi :)

Haley and Chelle, you both know how I feel about you; need I say more!

Haley, saluto, again you outdid yourself!

And Chelle, both you and Haley have done amazing things with your car. You definitely DESERVED the, 'Best of Show' award!!!!

And to the rest of you Ferrari guys, it was great to see you. I only drove the 'Roller' because I was supposed to chauffer a patient during the parade.

Unfortunately, he was too ill to come out and take the ride. :(

Anyway, it was a great day and I'm already looking forward to next year.

Oh, and Ed told me to tell you he had a great time too (he's not much of a poster).

He enjoyed meeting with many of his customers in a more social atmosphere.

    The Emp

P.S. Andreas, I have to give you much credit too. The plaques are beautiful!
