I just received this email from the organizer: It is now one week away! I still have space for about 12 cars. If you know anyone who would like to go please visit www.edpracing.com or reply to this email asap. Let's have a fun, safe event! Thanks Ed Paez
I'd like to come but I can't make it. These events are the best & I highly recommend fir anyone to give it a try. Have fun Dave.
WTF??!!! Please, I hope no one got hurt or totaled/wrecked their car. I've already witnessed two E46's wrecked there.
Guess I should clarify: Rainstorms, big rainstorms AP HEARNE, Texas Dozens of homes were flooded and roads were submerged Thursday as thunderstorms dumped up to 12 inches of rain on areas of Robertson County northwest of College Station.. That's only 20 miles or so away.
If anything the tunnel may have flooded & there are some areas on the track that are known to pool up. It's not a fun track to drive in the rain but in certainly is a challenge.
Everyone is OK, although a blue Corvette was REALLY deep in th emud on the inside exit of Turn 6. Track was wet at 8 AM. Wind from the south was drying it. At 9:15, wind shifted, from the north. Sky got end-of-world black. Rain began lightly...then harder...then the lightning hit all around the track. Then the rain REALLY opened up. We had to go out in 3" of standing water ON THE TRACK to rescue the corner workers. And it rained even harder. Think Noah's Ark. By 11:00, there was 10"-12" of water in the parking & grid area, and 3" or so on the floor of the garages. And more coming. We were then told that both tunnels were full of 4' of water, and were closed. Fire department said we had 15 minutes to evacuate via the back gravel road (the one that begins at turn-in for Turn 6), before it too was closed. So we split. Unreal.
wow... I knew that TWS was notorious for funky weather but that is unreal. And that gravel road. I never looked to where it went, but glad I know now. Hope it doesn't go anywhere, it's a good marker, IIRC.
