Here are a few car pictures from yesterday:
We were invited to Bellevue Bentley for viewing the new Continental GT. Unfortunately, having the Enzo, Stradale, and a variety of Ferraris in their parking lot emptied the showroom.
Very cool Willis, the Enzo huh??? I guess I should have cancelled out on my buddy's wedding yesterday!! He would have understood...!!
Robert, your buddy's wedding is more important. However, you should have seen the stunned reactions on the streets when we drove by with the Enzo in the lead. My camera ran out of power so I didn't get any of the parking lot antics at Bellevue Bentley. I'm sure someone will post more pictures soon. Some of us went on a drive afterward (sans Enzo) and caught up with the Plymouth Prowler Club on their drive in Carnation. Very cool people.
Fun day! I waited in the road and let the Enzo pull out in front of me as we left Speedware and headed over to the car dealership in Bellevue. It was very cool following directly behind it through the side streets and then seeing Greg "launch" it onto the 520 freeway. That thing just FLYS!

Definitely a fun day! Great turnout at Speedware, Enzo, Bentley fun, BBQ, Park Place, and the jaunt through the country side. Good use of a Saturday. That'll teach my son to sleep in! Tim
I didn't stop by Park Place yesterday, but I heard from someone that Shannon (former FoS salesman) is now working there.
Tim, You guys should carry the FRS radio in the car at all times. Albert and I turned right from 202 while you went straight ahead. We did a nice run through the twisties then stopped by Albert's house for refreshment and checked out his newly decked out garage.
Maybe we should all invest in a better 2 way radio for our runs. The FRS stuff is really frustrating at times for communiating. How about: http://www.racingradios.com/twoway.htm ?
http://www.warehouseradio.com/Faxes/Fax_CP200_&_Accessory.htm Looks like a CP200 is about $399 for UHF (16 channels) and another $47 for the headset. What do you guys think?
Sorry I missed out. I was at work by special request (meaning mandatory). One drawback to having specialty certifications. A definate need for good radios too. If we get upgrades we all need to be on the same boat for it to work. Aren't the GRS 'high band' radios a sufficient upgrade?. Less than half the cost of a VF/UF. Dave Handa made mention of these and sounded like a good alternative without become HAM radio operators.
Doing a quick Froogle search, the exact same model is $280 at this company: http://www.actioncommunications.com/merchant/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=ACI&Product_Code=AAH50RDC9AA1AN&Category_Code=UHF+450+MHz+Range A less expensive route would be to buy the new GMRS radios that have longer range (up to 5 miles) and use some of the same channels as FRS. That way other people who have the FRS radios can still use them too.
We should try the GMRS band the next time we get together. Frankie and I tried it coming back from Whistler last year when we went to retrieve our cars. Better range, better clarity but still lots of noise.
Since this thread was supposed to be about the tech session, here are some pictures to keep it on topic...
