Okay, So shave maybe once a year if its a good year. I don't know if it's a really tough beard or sensitive skin, but it's practically impossible for me to use a razor, of any kind, and not be uncomfortable for at least 4 days. Blood, irritated skin, razor bumps .. I get it all. I tried electric razors, but that's just an excercise in pain. From the first time I try using them, electric razors do nothin but pull hairs out of my neck ... the pain is excrutiating. And after they get pulled out, I start to bleed. To give you an idea of how bad things are, I used a beard trimmer on its closest setting for my "shave" on my wedding day. In fact, I've been using a beard trimmer as my "shavor" for years now, its the only that works without destroying my face. I've tried Bic, I've tried Gilette, I've tried shavors for men, shavors for women, and most of the shaving cream/gels and oils out on the market including Zihr which cost me a ton but I heard about on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. I tried single blades, twin-blades, and triple blades ... nothing worked. Well back in February my wife had our first child. And I know that my daily stubble has been irritating him, I can see it in his skin after he rubs his cheek on mine. So I decided to try Gillette's new "Fusion" 5-blade thing and I've got to say, as stupid as this may sound, because of how long I've had to deal with this problem and all the agony and annoyances its caused, except for my son being born, this has been the most life-changing thing since I got married. For me, this thing works fantastic. For the first time I can ever remember, when I was washing my face after my shave two days ago, there was no stinging (which means there were actually no nicks). I gave it two days to see if I had any bumps, but my neck feels absolutely great. Technically, there are 6 blades, because there's one on the top back-side that you use as a trimmer and that's a great little innovation. Okay, enough of this ridiculously long post. Bottom line, I'm elated and if you have issues shaving, I recommend you try it. Bill in Brooklyn
I bought one. After about 30 seconds I almost started laughing cause it's such a gimmick. I will use it on occasion till the blades get dull. Then it's going direct to the trash can.
I have to agree with you. It has allowed me to shave without issue since it came out. I guess its not for everyone.......
I can only shave in the shower with hot water (and at that only every 2-3days) , otherwise my fave goes on revolt too. I'll try one. I've actually been using the 'venus' 3-blade razor marketed to women.
I've had friends borrow their girlfriends venus when they ran out of blades and said it cuased severe razor burn (they did use a new blade). But I was thinking, maybe if you have sensitive skin it might be a good idea. I use the Fusion Power and I like it. If I shave anymore often than every 2 days my skin hates me. Damn sensitive skin!
I shave once a week. I figure let a nice shadow grow in but shave it before it starts to get scratchy.
I used to be in the same boat. Beard trimmer on the closest setting. I'd do it every morning and start the day with 5 o'clock shadow. At 5 o'clock things weren't pretty!. I switched to the Mach 3 a couple of years ago with Gillette sensitive skin foam. Only gets irritated when the blade gets dull...one every five days. I'll have to try the fusion maybe I can get a week out of the blade. Rob
I use a double edge razor. Right now I'm using a Gilette Super Speed from the 40's. I like it better than all of these new plastic diposable things that are popular now. I also use a badger hair brush with different soaps and creams.
Gillette sent me one free as a birthday present yesterday! Pretty awesome, I gotta say. I haven't had to shave for anything recently so I have to wait until tomorrow for a verdict.
i have the fusion power and i dont like it it works great for like 2 shaves then i find the blades dull and i have to replace em
