See kids, you can be an ******* all your life and good things still happen to you. No need to obey the golden rule.
Congrats to him. I didn't know much about Vitamin Water til Brian Urlacher was wearing that hat at the Superbowl. Surprised it was bought for that much, but congrats to 50 for his stake in it. I've heard he's had a very popular drink made with that company (something with grapes). P.S. He was shot 9 times.
That catapults him to being a bigger mogul than Diddy, Jay Z, Russell Simmons, and Master P (unless their fortunes have grown since the last time I read what they were worth). That's unbelievable for somebody who was unknown 5 years ago and who's first single was released about 4 and 1/2 years ago.
maybe... maybe not, http://www.mediatakeout.com/6420/report_50_cent_did_not_make_400m_from_vitamin_water_sale.html May 30, 2007. A few days ago a couple of news sources reported that Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is set to make $400 million off the sale of Vitamin Water to Coca Cola. According to the reports, 50's windfall is a result of him owning 10% of Energy Brands, Inc - the parent company to the popular beverage Vitamin Water. Well MediaTakeOut.com has learned that those reports are complete fiction. In an exclusive interview, MediaTakeOut.com spoke with an investment banker familiar with the proposed Energy Brands acquisition. And according to the banker, 50's equity interest in the beverage company is far less than 10%. The banker explains, "50 Cent has a licensing agreement with Energy Brands which pays him a set fee and gives him a percentage of the sales from Formula 50 [The flavor specifically designed by 50]. He does not own a significant interest in the company ... The 10% number you hear is pure fiction." But don't feel too sorry for the multi-platinum selling rapper. According to the banker, 50 Cent's current deal with Energy Brands is worth many millions of dollars. Tells the Wall St. whiz, "[Energy Brands] has a number of celebrities who endorse their products, including Brain Urlacher, Shaquille O'Neill, and Allen Iverson. But the endorsement deal with 50 Cent is, by far, the most substantial." Energy Brands was founded in 1996. Since then it's become the market leader in the enhanced water arena.
geez this market has gone crazy. People think drinking vitamin water makes them healty..funny. Kinda like seeing the big lazy fat lady in the lunch room with a gatorade..hmmm... or the same lady with a big mac, fries, and a vitamin water...what a combo...someone out there is making huge $$$ on this stuff and peoples beliefs.
Yeah, I can't believe that crap. The ONLY reason vitamin water is "successful" is because they market the flavors not as flavors, but as "tonics." Got stress? Drink some of this Zinc and potassium ****. The same goes with Sobe. Propel is the only one in my book that I actually like, but I still prefer eating healthy and taking my multi vitamins... You see, crime DOES pay.
50 appears to be much more than a thug who sold a few rap albums. He seems to be a pretty smart business person who has diversified himself enough to make money in several markets.
exactly. most of us might not like 50's past, where he came from and what he had to do to survive while he was there....either way I guarantee you that the last thing on 50's mind these days is selling drugs or being a thug... you know the saying, "it takes money to make money"??....well, after he got himself a little money, he never looked back!.....he's a smart business man and has shown that he can make money out of anything he gets into... examples..... when he got a little money he bought Mike Tyson's old house from his ex-wife for $4million, he put a little money into it, made himself very popular and now he's seeling the place for $18million, $14 million profit, not bad, eh?? 50 owns G Unit records, he signs rapper "The Game", Game goes platinum on his first album, who do you think made more money on the Game's album? Game or 50? Game and 50 get into a disagreement and part ways(mind you Game is still under contract to 50 for a few more albums).....Game proceeds to make a bunch of song disrecpecting 50, what does 50 do?...sit back and relax, he's got other things to worry about, like having 2 multi platinum albums in the market.....The Game decides that he's gonna work his way out of his contract, 50 releases a little cashflow to get the project going.....The Game did everything on his album, wrote , sang, produced, etc....album comes out, it goes platinum....who do you think made more money on that album? 50 or Game?? awhile ago a few people started getting sick of 50's music and the fact that kids were listening to it, so they started the "Ban 50 Cent" campain.....what does 50 do?...he presses up a few thousand "Ban 50 Cent" t-shirts and starts selling them, cha ching!...not only is he making money, it's free advertising..... not too long ago he gets into beef with another rapper "Cam'rom", his big insult was to call 50 "Curtis" his real name, yeah Cam'ron didn't think about this one at all........so he proceeds to put out a few songs dissing 50, calling him Curtis, Curtis, Curtis all over the place........... what does 50 do, persses up a few thousand "Curtis" t-shirts and starts selling them, and he's going to name his upcoming album Curtis........hey the free publicity is already there, why not? eh..... keep in mind that 50 is only 4yrs into really having money and being able to do something with it....if he continues making smart choices like he has been, he'll be a Billionaire in no time.......
I've also heard a rumor where 50 Cent would like to develop a "cheap" computer with Apple for low-income families.
Who are you to judge what people deserve in life? How much do you know about the guy? Making a hit record might be considered lucky. Creating several successful business entities has nothing to do with luck.
On the way driving to school I really thought to myself: Is this due to 50 Cent's business prowness, or Dr. Dre's? Granted -- Obie Trice never blew up, and Mobb Deep + Busta's acquisition hasn't really flowered yet -- but no one can deny that dro is pro
you lost me with the "dro is pro" stuff........ 50 Cent's music career is influenced by Dr.Dre's success...... 50's business ventures are not. get it?
One additional tid bit: The 10% number refers to the percentage 50 gets from every "Formula 50" Vitamin water sale. So every time you buy one for $1.40 he gets $0.14. That flavor is by far the most popular based on taste alone. Btw, I buy loads of it, I really don't give a **** who is on the label, it is low calorie and tastes great.
