Lokking and lurking over here in Europe ... help needed What may plea against a nice, well maintained 458 with K80 kms = 50K Miles ? Are big costs coming at 100K ? What about the CCM system ? How to check that all before buying (PPI ) Where can I download a 458 WSM ? You may also write to me via [email protected]
I have a 458 driven everyday for the past 2 years from journeys across to germany and spain and everyday runs to supermarkets and back and forths to work. Regularly serviced just the usual brake pads, oil, etc. Never had any problems expect loads of paint work on front bumper due to stone chips and driver side seat bolster replaced due to rip and wear and tear due to jeans (aramani logo) . And not forgetting tyres had them replaced several times. The car reads 68k miles and i think it can go another 150k miles before it may needs a engine rebuild.
There is 458 for sell in US with 96k miles . These are not fragile cars. 50k is no reason not to buy especially if price is right.
Thanx DonJuan and you for reply ! But will a 458 with let's say K Miles 100 ever be sold ? I have the hunch it will not find a new owner ... Which big services will arise ? CCM replacement at these ridiculous costs ? So maybe I should not buy this car ... still not confident ... Any more ?
Yes the CCM is expensive. However, one can easily see how much life is left. Also with time the costs for replacement parts may become less expensive. I think the 458 is a fantastic car. My spider just had a 49,000 mile service. She is still tight and nimble. If you buy one at a good price and decide to sell it a year later, how much will you lose? And what is the value of driving a modern Ferrari for a year?
That's 4 months for me and I live in U.S. Cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider (Daily Driver) Ordered: 2017 Lotus Evora 400
