With Black exterior, Tan interior, Daytona Inserts and, 5 star wheels, this Ferrari 512 BB Boxer is a true California car. This edition from the first production year of the 512 is the carbureted model which is highly sought after by both collectors and enthusiasts and featured in Forza magazine. A complete major service has just been completed with all the extras in August of 2008. This Ferrari has been gone through front to back and we have left no stone unturned, car is in superb condition, with only 9,700 miles. As close to new condition as you will ever find this 512 BB Boxer's value is sure to increase in the years to come. No serial number. Perhaps someone has the Forza magazine? That one was #24979, which I have in my notes from that same advert in July 2009, with the additional notation: I've always thought the Straman targas were rolling sex - even moreso that the regular Boxer.
I was contacted today by a local client that purchased an '81 512bb new from Pozzi and upon importing it had Straman convert the car to a Targa, it's quite intersting because I've never seen one before! This car is certaily a bit challenging to gauge the value, I hope to be able to nail down an agreeable value with the owner so I can have this car in my possession
Very nice looking! Surgery on a boxer so it becomes a B not a BB...... Berlinetta was defined by Ferrari as a racing hard top. Boxer engine was created for lower center of gravity of the total engine to allow the trans axle to be mounted below the engine for the same reason. No wonder Boxers are under valued in the US Mario
It appears Straman did a red version as shown in this early sell sheet. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes the red car existed and newman and i recently spend a fair amount of time looking it over. the silver diffuser over the bonnet is accurate in the model by the way i was not aware that a scale model of the car existed. i guess that makes the conversion more legit
