    hello,

it's been said that the testarossa was a major step up from the 512 BBi. one of the major improvements was moving the radiator from the nose of the BBi to the rear of the TR.

to the 512 BBi's just how "bad" is the drivers cabin in a 512? (windows up, A/C on) i've heard stories both ways.

    thanks in advance..

Since your in northern Illinois you can relate to just how hot + humid it can get here during late June-July.

In 2005 I drove my BBI up to and back from Milwaukee on what turned out to be the hotest day of the year. Something like 101-105 deg F with a saturated dew point & clear skies. A miserable day to be outside.
With the A/C blazing on high, and the windows rolled up, I was reasonably comfortable. Not hot. Not freezing, but cool.

I have noticed dark vs light interior colors do make a difference with interior cooling. My BBI has a Tobacco (tan) interior, and my 308 GTS QV has a black interior. Both cars have fairly equal A/C, and both have highly raked windscreens with a green house effect on sunny days. The BBI is cooler with the lighter interior.

It's not that bad at all. I have driven my BBi's in 115 degree weather and like Dave says it is "reasonably comfortable". It won't freeze you out of the car but it will keep you from sweating.

Yesterday, the car sat outside for four hours, 80+ degrees in the sun, before I left for an FCA reception. It took a little while for the A/C to catch up.

For me in humid Florida, the A/C is just barely tolerable during the day in the summer, OK at night. During the Fall and Spring, it is OK during the day, and great at night. This time of year it is hardly needed day or night.

My biggest complaint is that there is no vent to the left of the steering column, leaving that part of my torso subject to perspiration.
