Hello, I've got a question on a 512 BB 1979 carb car. The windows have been playing up for a while now, I thought it related to old grease drying up in the window mechanism. I took the windows apart to find the grease was fine, the issue related to a small nylon worm inside the black plastic casing, the nylon part is worn out so need a new mechanism. this part is not easy to come by. Does anyone know of the 308 gtb or 308gt4 use the same motor/ nylon worm? or does anyone know where I can source a new motor? regards Noel
I buy the aftermarket modern ones from Trutlands. Cable length is hit and miss because between the 308/Testarossa/BB and BBi they all vary in cable length. Not a huge issue but expect to shorten the cable. Aside from that they work like a modern car window even with the old switches.
