Trying to help my friend who has a 512bbi. He lives in OR and I’m in CO so my help is over the phone and it is hard to do as much for him as I would like. The distributor cap he has is some sort of after market 3D printed part and it is poorly done. My question is who is doing a quality cap these days? I have done some searching around but, don’t want to end up again with some poorly made replacement that is no better than what he has now. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I believe I have seen them at GT Car Parts in Phoenix. They have some quality new production caps from their USA source.

Any of the usual suppliers have good caps in stock. I've never seen a 3d printed one.

re: 3d printed cap; I had never heard of it either but this is what I was told. I haven’t actually seen the part and this is what I was concerned about. I wasn’t sure if that was the way they were being reproduced now. Getting involved in something without all the information needed and being described by someone that isn’t an expert can get sideways.

If I remember correctly that is where this junk piece came from a few years ago.
