Yes, my 94 is very hard to park, but otherwise the feedback at speed is great!

True again. But, you learn how to park with least amount of lock.

Having driven both a Mondial and a 355 with P/S, I can tell you honestly that I would rather have the traditional unassisted feel of the Testarossa as is (both seemed more than a little on the light side to me) - and yes, I have other P/S sports cars.

I guess you could always put a electric power steering module on it if you choose to.

Yep, I'm more than aware of that. Merely trying to understand this thread. It's original starting post had (has) me confused as to the authors meaning.

it is power sterring i refer to.
i have a 1992 512TR and the car has ultra heavy stering in low speed and parking.
do you recomend those power sterring conversions?

I have never seen a conversion completed but it would certainly be very interesting to have such a great car that you could actually park without popping a prostrate, yet remained perfect at speed as they are.

Mazda also use an electrical power steering shaft in late models. Might be worth a further look.

James, your comments are spot on. I owned a 355 and the PS always bothered me, esp. at higher speeds. I much prefer the feedback from the non-assisted TR/M even though it is a bit difficult at VERY slow speeds.

Very easy to merely cut out the assist over a certain speed, say 30mph.

$5950 just for the unit. Everything else would need to be custom install.

I totally agree and you should disconnect the brake booster while your at it. Real men don't need no stinking power brakes. :)

Be careful, youngster :) I been driving mine for almost 20 years but now less and less as I pass 70 and have some health issues so now I spend most of my seat time in my 430 or 575. Electric steering makes sense to me.
