    I am not sure if posted before the issue of hitting the rev limiter at about 6k rpm on the tachometer, even though it feels as if it is revving up normally. Bobiloff told me it was a tach issue with no other cure than to replace.
    Any past experience, threads, cures?

    The following chart reflects the speed in gears for the 512TR so you can check to see if the rev limiter kicks in at the appropriate speed. If so it is indeed a tach error. Good luck.

    thanks for the info. the speed and rev limits are right so it must be a tach issue

    I had the same problem on my 1994 512TR. I just got through replacing the tach and now all is well.
