As a side business, someone should consider making these (Daniel?), using plain SS, and forget the chromed finish. A decent muffler shop should be able to make 2 for $100 or less, resell at $200. $700...I don't know. At that price point it almost makes sense to make it yourself. This is not a complex piece of metallurgy or casting...
I installed test pipes and x-ost.... 94 512TR incredible.... car sounds like an F1 the car runs silky smooth.... no smell of raw gas, the sound of the exhaust becomes crazy after 4400rpm.... kind of raspy, and very high pitch.... also a definate power increase... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc4evArtcLI
I don't know exactly what your test pipe needs to look like but if you provide me your old cats ( for dimensions ) I will make you a set at a price far cheaper then any on the internet . no idea how much gained... but there is an increase for sure, the car feels a lot more responsive... and just pulls like crazy...sounds sick, especially when you drive into a tunnel high rpm is the only way to roll! ;-)
