Testarossa is a more realistic comparison to the late model Countach.

512TR should be compared to the Diablo.

Some magazines have come to different conclusions.

Ralf- I would tell them, except I do not speak Japanese and it was over 20 years ago. Countach production stopped in 1990 and 512 TR production started in 1991. Countach would have eaten a TR.

Not so fast, while both cars had similar 0-60 times, the Testarossa would eat its lunch at higher speeds where the Countach's poor aerodynamics become more of a burden. The Testarossa was the fastest regular production car in the world when it launched.

That being said, the Countach is my all time favorite supercar, bar none.

Joe- That may be so, but it would take a really long straight for it to happen from a standing start.

The German Sport Auto magazine tested both at Hockenheim short in 1987 and the Testarossa was slightly faster.

Not so fast there Tiger, your anniversary edition has more cheese graters on it than my Testarossa! And we do cheese graters better than you. :D

I have one of each. Countach much faster at the lower speeds. It is really noticeable when you drive one and then immediately drive the other. The Tr lacks power down low. But it is a better engineered car than the Countach in many ways. They are two very great but very different cars.

    Joe,
    Mine isn't the Anniversary! It's the 88.5!

But yes, you do do cheese graters better, because you're more cheesy :p

    Cheesy you say! Cheesy?

Talk about people in glass houses!

The average Countach owner wears more gold chains than Mr. T!

The Countach was the only supercar to ever come with a vat of rogaine...

    For your chest :D

    ;) ;). :p
