    Hi guys,

    I have a specific problem with a 1993 512 TR.

The windshield washer pump doesn't work when activate the washer fluid lever. The windshield wiper blades work fine, there just isn't any fluid coming out.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? A fuse, a relay?

    Thanks.

    Dear Ferraristi,

Check the reservoir...it might be empty... :D

OK...first, check the connection to the little pump motor on the reservoir. They usually get corroded. Pull the connector, clean it and put a multimeter to it. Have a friend or a hot thin blonde activate the wiper cleaner mechanism. See if you're getting power to the connector. Go from there....

If the washers haven't been uswed for sometime, the pump may need priming.

Put some water in your mouth and blow it through the pump and pickup tube with the washer activated.

If the sprayers spritz the problem may be solved.

We took out the washer fluid pump assembly yesterday and found out that the actual pump was itself completely corroded. Most probably, this was due to some washer fluid overflow that trickled down into the metal parts. Given the type of solutions that are used in washer fluid, it was not surprising that, coupled with the electrical current, it got literally fried and corroded.

We replaced the pump and everything is working fine now.

    Thanks for the assistance.

    Cheers

Glad to hear it was no big deal and all is well.
