    Can anyone help? My speedo is stuck on 40mph at all times. where this isn't too much of a problem,i do have the problem that the miles are clocking up more than i am driving( i.e i drive 10 miles but the car clocks up about 14??) Is there an easy way to either stop this or disconnect the speedo?

    It sounds more than likely that the speedo head is faulty, so it will either have to be replaced or if you can find a specialist who can re-calibrate it. If you want to temporarily disconnect it you can just un-plug the wiring connecting block of the sender unit that is mounted in the lower part of the front cover of the main gearbox housing (item no 36 in picture).

    To remove the speedo head - unscrew the top black screw, pull the head away from the dash, un-plug the cable block and from memory I think it will come out without removing the steering wheel.
