Does anyone have or know of a source where I can purchase a jack for my 1995 512M. I purchased the car about 3 years ago and never noticed the jack was missing until now. Also, regarding the hood holder shock absorbers. Is there a good source for these also?

    Best Regards,
    Carson

Give your location -- if you are in UK/Europe, www.eurospares.co.uk has the 512M front hood gas springs (63671500) for a quasi-reasonable price.

I don't know about the 512M but the 512TR European version came with a jack and spare tire. One showed up on eBay, brand new and in perfect condition for about $700 and I grabbed it. The tire is of course a donut type and the jack and lugwrench are excellent quality; much better than the jacks that come with American vehicles. None of these items are in the 512TR parts book, although it is an International edition. Ferrari printed a little booklet about the spare and jack and I do have this.

Interesting thing about the spare, though. It will only fit on the rear. It will not fit on front because of different brake caliper spacing. Another interesting thing is after you have that flat and put the donut on, where are you going to put the flat rear tire and wheel? It won't go in the trunk. I was able to wrap it in a blanket and put in the passenger seat but if you have a passenger, one will have to stay behind!

As a back-up I bought a new can of pressurized sealant, a plug-type patch kit, and a cigarette lighter opered air compressor. All will work in a pinch except for a blowout. I've never had a flat but ruined a front tire on a big pot-hole. It was driveable with a big knot on the side. I keep another front wheel with tire mounted in the trailer so with it and the spare for the rear I'm never more than 100 miles from help.

Two Ferrari jacks showed up on eBay. Don't know what cars they go to. 170176205057 and 170176206921
Sorry I don't know how to do a direct link to the listings. Both very expensive.

The one with the ratcheting handle looks the best but don't remember if mine has that or not. Can't get to it easily right now to find out.

Carson, the spare and jack were an option on the US cars. I do not know of any one who took that option. If you don't mind would you e-mail me at the address at the bottom I would like to talk to you about your car. Thanks

Thank you for the reply on the 512M jack. I didn't realize it didn't come with one. So, I feel better that what I bought was fully equipped.
My 512M is Red with Tan interior. The name plate on it says it is number 48 of 75, sold in the USA.
I agree with you that keeping it is the right idea. At 12 years old, it's time to enter it in some consourse events. :)

    Thanks again!
