Well, it's supposed to be finished today, but it won't happen...ha ha. I got the pic from Ray Techno Service instead of the real exhaust system. I have not had a chance to go and take a look at the system with my own eyes, but from the picture, it looks pretty good. The only complain is that the muffler seems a bit big. I hope to save some weight from this system, but it looks like I won't be saving a lot. Hopefully they will have it done within this week. K pong check the sound and performance after finish. I may need one for my mondial too! hi hi hi I am waiting.........
looks great, the seam looks fine, make sure to take a lot of pictures...If it turns out great, Ray will be busy with all works from us.......
P'Pom krub...I will keep you posted... P'Patpong, I should have dynoed the car before removing the exhaust. I might try putting the car on dyno once it's done and the service is complete krub. I told them to make sure that the quality of the seam is at its best and let them loose on everything else
Here is the latest photo krub. It's almost done. The Y sections and the test pipes are done. The only thing they need to complete is the muffler and the tips. Hopefully, it will be completed by Wed and installed by Thurs. I cranked up the engine last night just to hear the un-muffled flat 12. It was unbeliveable...very powerful. It sounds like a dragster ready to be launched. I blipped the throttle a little, man oh man....it sounds so glorious!!! Hopefully, this system will give me some of that...he he. I don't want it too loud, but more noise is welcome. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking great Pong. can't wait Ha? I know just how you feel. If it turn out great, mine is next in line...
P'Pong.. 555 Looking great. Make sure you have Ray make a tunable tube so it doesn't resonant at certain RPM and you can tune your exhaust note depending on your mood. Have fun ha..
uhhh... it might be a bit too late for the tunable tube I hope it will not be too boommy. The system is supposed to be done tonight. And if Ray can find time, he will come to install it in my car tomorrow or Fri krub.
Well, we got it into the car this afternoon. Got a few pics to show krub. The quality of the work is 9.8 out of 10...you can check out the pics. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here are the comparison of the Y-section and the test pipe. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

installing was a breez...everything was in its place with 100% precision... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The whole system only weight 5 kg less than the stock. This is due to the fact that the muffler is very big...a bit bigger than stock actually. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well...now the disappointment!!! It is quieter than stock!!!! even with the cat removed and straight through design. That was a big shock for me.. However, the pipings are bigger in dia, and without the cat, thus the exhaust flows much better. I can feel a bit more power through out the rev range. The car feels a bit more responsive, but damn quiet!!!!! I am going maddddd.... The system looks so good and perform well, but it produces no noise!!... Anyway, they will take it out Monday to try to do something to make it louder krub....will keep you guys informed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cost of this system....is 34000 baht...not too bad krub. A bit on the expensive side for made-in-Thailand system, but consider it's a one-off and the material used is top grade, I am satisfied with the price. If you can go directly to the guy who make this system (somewhere on Rama IX) you might get it a bit cheaper. But what I get is that Ray Techno Service pick up the system and install it for me at my house in Chonburi krub. I guess I pay a bit more for service also...ha ha ha. Now.....they gotta make it louder for me.....
Pong: Your local fabricator did a very nice job. What kind of stainless steel and tubing thickness did they use? Regards, cwwhk
When using test pipes instead of Cats, I remove the thermo couple fitting and just tie the sensor up out the way, or even make a short jumper connector and remove it. On track, the thermocouple "may" see temps that cause the slow down to operate, and it's totally unnecessary as you have no cats to protect!! Looks great, and remember that the sound will change as the system settles in. But not by too much.
LOOKS FANTASTIC PONG SORRY IT DOESNT SOUND TOO GOOD HOPE THEY CAN SORT IT OUT, BY THE WAY TO BUY THAT IN uk WOULD COST 5 TIMES AS MUCH! The material is 1.5 mm thick stainless...don't know the #. ferrarifixer, thank you for the tip. I hope the "slow down" doesn't show up as I am not planning to track the car. Now, all I need is noise...
Look totally great... The muffle has to be smaller by at least 40% to produce a satisfing sound. However, the sound from small muffle alone will sound big but the complete the exhaust system with headers will sound and perform much better. I think its the sound you are looking for. Too bad you are not going to the club meeting today otherwise you should have listen to the sound on my 308. Because it was the older system, 1976 so it got no sound deading and come with original header....sound so great. Talk to Ray about the headers, see what he say...
P'Pong, You exhaust looks great. This is a case with custom exhaust, you'd never know what sound you will get. It is a test and tune..basically. I went thru two Magnaflow blanks in order to get the sound that I wanted out of my car. Granted that the shop on Rama Rd fabricated that exhaust entirely by themselves, it should not be hard to open it up and compare it with the 512 OE exhaust. Dinan USA uses use-OEM BMW exhaust housing, modified the inside of the housing, and resell it at a higher price. Maybe all you have to reroute exhaust path within the exhaust housing and lessen the insulator. I am pretty you will get the sound that you want in no time at all but you will have to do a little bit of test & tune. Well, Tubi is around 160,000 baht. If you total cost with additional R&D is around 60,000 baht then you are in good shape. BTW, this is going to be your own piece of work...only one in Thailand. I am excite to see and hear more results.. good luck krup..
The header still seems to be in a perfect shape krub, P'Moo. That's why I didn't go for it at the same time. But I am thinking about the major service soon, I might try to do the headers at the same time... It's too bad I will not attend today's meeting. I actually just got back from Puttamonton sai song krub... Hope I can see pics of the meeting. Mack, yes, it's all trail and error. It's not bad for the first time. Got a better flow and better performance across the rev range. It's just not making any noise. The shop did not open up the oem muffler as they want to keep it the same condition and would like to try their own system. Anyway, I will let them work on it a bit more and we will hear it again.
K'Pong, I think that the sound is quiet because of the bigger muffler. You should use the smaller one than the standard Jin
