Here is a pic of the grommet that holds the pump to the basket.

The strange thing is that it is semi intact. So what are all of the other bits?

That grommet is an Alfa 164 part. Just so you know.

My guess is that #2 is what is lying on the bottom of the tank.

#8 was on the way out too

    Yes Mel....but Adam has disappeared.

I did this because of his post. And I see that my car is rotting just like his.

Ok....no one has the fuel pump gasket. not at ricambi nor anywhere else.

I used adam's method of split 3/8 fuel hose. It works much better than I expected.

BTW...the pieces at the bottom of my tank are due to a bottom gasket. It seems that everyone still has these available. I don't know why anyone would use them.

I purchased 1/8 rubber today that was ethanol/gas proof. I then cut the shape to fit. This pads the bottom of the fuel pump assembly from the bottom of the tank.

If you have a 512tr (not a TR because they don't have internal pumps) you really need to check this.

I hope to lower the driver tank tomorrow.

Thanks again to Adam for the tip.

Nah, I had several others offer to pay, but I think it's silly to have to pay for pictures that Fchat keeps and then charges one to post them up. I am stubborn. :)

Regardless if this has been covered or not, THANKS for posting. Post like this is what forums use to be about. Also, a different flaw may be discovered on your tear down that wasn’t previously documented. Are you putting the gasket on the bottom or leaving it out? What purpose does it serve?
