Of course you trust him !

But the parts shown here can still be obtained.

For instance you can choose from 2 fine upgraded diffs that imo allways will be better than a broken/rewelded one.

Sorry, my mechanical brain says so :D

After 11 years of ownership of my 512 tr (1992, 44000 km bought my car from the original owner, never abused!) I finally did the major service (When I bought the car 11 years ago it was just serviced and all these years I did around 5000 km).
To my great surprise, my differential was ready to break!
Actually, I was very lucky that it didn't cause any damage!
As people said before in this forum.... "it's a matter of when the differential will break!"

What actual proof do you have that the one piece M diff fails?

I strongly advise you to check tooth of 2nd gear, they tend to loose surface and ( even more important ) to check de diff.
The TR diffs are prone to break at the welds. They are, at the best of it's time, just sufficient enough for a 365 torque.
Hence the uprated version in the 512 M.
When that pre M diff cracks ( and it will sooner or later) you'll have all the ingredients for a broken main shaft, and many more in wordt case.
An mildly driven TR is no guarantee at all. It is a prooven weakspot.

I have all the proof and parts at hand. So don't take the risk and change the diff while you still can do the prevention.

    Best Marcel

did you manage to find your required parts? I got a uprated diff and 2nd gear from the UK and an original shaft from Koenig in Germany who had some spare left.
But this is already some years ago.

So curious here… did Gripper replace Forza? Phill isnt active anymore it seems. My gearbox on my 1993 has 130k miles on it…I have a major service due in a year and have a slight whine in the drivetrain… probably a worn bearing…. Who can I trust to rebuild the box if I choose to… ( in Northern Europe or I could ship to the UK….)

Gripper makes diffs and Forza sold them. I have it installed.
