I travel to London about 2-3 times a year and always love to read the bi-weekly 'Top Marque' second hand car magazine. However, I always find in the magazine that there are lot of 360, 355 and a few of 308, 328 but 512TR seems non existence. Moreover, I often see 456, 355, 360 on the street but not once did I see a 512TR. Any reasons to this, guys?
Hey, I dont know the figures, but I would say the 512TR is rarer than many 'modern' Ferrari's in the UK, which would account for you not realy seeing them. There is usually one or two for sale on www.autotrader.co.uk (owner of Top Marques), so you could search there if you want to see them. Maybe the fact you dont see so any is also related to how much more usable a 355/360/456 is that a wide-bummed 512. Jamie
I would guess it's because there are only 50 or so 512TRs in the UK. Hence they aren't all that common on the streets or in the magazines.
Best Ferrari I've owned, you dont see many about 'cos there arn't many!, I was out in mine over the weekend around Hertfordshire, with a big grin..........
has the Testarossa out on Sunday! Well it was the day for it can't be that many Testarossas either, I rarely see one other than the one that is sitting in my garage!
I think it is going to be a must for some exhaust sounds, sun will be out later this week, me & my vid machine WILL be out there......... See link for 6r4 clips - sorry only a v6 http://www.512tr.co.uk/ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice one Phil. So I take it that I don't see much of it in the second hand magazines and out about because of its rarity not for its less popualarity. That is nice to know. Took out mine last weekend for a long motorway blast and it was awesome.
512TR in UK, how popular is it? Extremely popular with the shareholders of Shell, BP,Q8 Total and all the other petrol retailers, except the supermarket ones, TR owners only shop at Harrods and Fortnum & Masons, and they don't sell petrol!
Well it says in the manual the tank will hold 100 ltrs, I have never been able to put more than 70 odd ltrs in. Last year on the LeMans run the TR returned 320 miles on a tank, not bad for a goped.. P
Very funny! Apparently, it doesn't consume that heavily as I have a friend who has a 512TR down in Phuket (Island down south of Thailand) it is about 900km from Bangkok. He drove up with a full tank when he left Phuket and stopped only once for refuel and got to Bangkok with nearly half the tank left. He was doing 160-200 km/hour nearly all the way.
