    Hey everyone

    my first thread was this

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151383

I finally got my car back today.. yes on a sunday! car kicks ass... Not sure exactly what they did.. but they told me they disconnected the thermocouples? or the 02 sensors.... please see pics ... I was just too dam excited to take the car and run....

anyway, car seems to run super well now... its loud.. and doesn't burble/sputter anymore, no more back fires, and I can drive it in cruise mode under 3000rpm...

anyway, can someone confirm what the heck has been disconnected here, it seems to be the sensor that runs into the testpipe... and connects to this part :

those are the o2 sensors. You car in running in "close loop" constantly and will be running richer then normal. You should have this issue corrected. should be no need to have these disconnected in order for your car to run correctly.

I'd like to know the whole story. Is this all that it took to fix the problem?

I still wonder if it wasn't cam timing. If it was they'll probably never admit it now that it's fixed.

well... maybe in a week or something, I will reconnect them myself and see what happens....as for running richer than normal... its odd, cause I don't smell any unburnt fuel from the exhaust fumes ... as I did before when the car would buckle/cough/sputter....

also.. since the 02 sensors are dissconnected, how come I don't get any check engine lights?

Well.. I don't know what the whole story is.. apparently all they did was dissconnect the 02 sensors from what I can see in the engine bay. I had told them to recheck all their connections, cause from previous threads, sometimes a 50pin plug or something that is not connected properly gives engine problems...

as for cam timing... if cam timing was off on only one side of the engine... wouldn't that mess up the engine performance completely? My problem was only under 3200rpm....anything over 3200rpm.. the car was performing very well. So my question is.. if cam timing is off/not adjusted properly... how can you still get good engine performance after 3200rpm? I think i need to take some mechanics courses :)

anyway.. the car is running fine now... well.. it seems fine to me... but the fact that my 02 sensors are dissconnected bothers me a bit.

Will running rich mess up my engine?

If you drive at altitude it will.

My 02 sensors were messed up, but it was fine on 'sea level' land, then I drove through the Rockies, and had to get service in Denver because it almost wouldn't run - honest-to-god felt like I was driving a lawnmower - NO power, and the Temp went thru the roof on it. It was not an F-car, though, it was a 3.8 V6 Ford.
