in the fiat world, there is concept of long and short neck radiator caps. now I have checked the one on the 512, and it currently has a short style cap. I think it is incorrect. I checked my 124 sport, and the depth in the header neck is the same as the one on the 512, the 124 uses the long neck style cap. just wanted to confirm before I change the cap on the 512. the short style is the usually the generic caps you get at auto part stores (not that that is what is on the 512). it was more for visualisation also can someone confirm that it is a 0.9 Bar (13PSI) please.
I spent a lot of time researching and don't even remember what I researched now .. but I ended up getting a 10230 cap from Stant That was 16 PSI
Iirc Ferrari made the recommendation to change to 1.1 bar I think if you search for 10230 you will have a few threads on it Usually when i research something to the point of buying the item I would say I would bet on it being right Non vented 1.1 bar Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk Image Unavailable, Please Login

The workshop manual was printed in 1991. Is it possible the specification changed in the intervening 32 years?
thanks for that. that looks longer than the one I have..so it all makes sense now. Fiat parts come to the rescue again
Not sure I follow ..out of the two you show i would.think.the shorter one is the correct one .. did i miss something Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
my shorter one is shorter than yours.. thats what is on the 512,, but yours is shorter than my long one (which is on the Fiat)..
