Hello everyone, I borrowed a 1994 512TR from a friend and a glass fog light cover "fell out" and shattered (not too exotically ... simply reversing out of my garage). It seems the adhesive broke down over time. I thought it was only right to source replacements, and install them. I now have two new fog light covers, but absolutely no idea how to install them. Would anyone be so kind to walk me through this process? My mechanical expertise is low, so please make it simple! Thank you and best regards, Paul
Do not make a bad situation worse. Call and tell your friend then arrange to get it to his mechanic for the repair.

Paul- Very simply, like Brian, the pro Ferrari mechanic, said, take it to someone who knows what they are doing and who has the proper adhesives and sealants. If you foul it up, that cover could be foggy for the rest of its life.
Hello Terry, Thanks for your advice, however is there anyone on this forum that has done this please. We are not sensitive about "fouling it up", this is going to be a project for my son. I understand it may ultimately go to my mechanic, but at this stage looking to see if it's something we can do. Not looking for advice if I should, or shouldn't, more a "how to" do this. Are you able to tell what held it together before? Do you have any pictures? I am shooting from the hip since you aren't getting any help yet but my guess is that you may need some sort of adhesive. LOL! That only begins to narrow down your options! Plus a lot of adhesives need careful and artistic level application to look professional. This is especially true of rework outside of a production environment. You may need to mask off areas to control the bead of "stuff" and you run the risk of not being able to clean it up if it gets out of hand during the process which may ruin the parts. I am a Ferrari owner and if a "friend" tried to fix my car without me knowing he would not be my friend for very long. However if my friend had an honest story and sourced some probably hard to get and expensive replacement parts and said he would pay to resolve it then our friendship might grow stronger. Lets see some detailed pictures of what you have before you.

Chances are he worked on this or know of a right adhesive even though he has sold his 512TR. I think Sherrillt has done this as well.

Regarding the fix, yes, we lend each other our cars often, so this is the right thing to do. If we make an error, then I'll have my mechanic get it right in the end so no loss. I'm not sure why Brian is not helping??? It may be that this is so easy that he thought if you had to ask....well then Go to west Marine and buy 3m medium silicone adhesive. Place a new bead in the channel that the lenses will sit in, then re apply the cleaned lense. So easy that even a rocket scientist can do it.
You loan friend your 20+ year old Ferrari. Friend breaks Ferrari and takes it upon himself to get parts and fix it. A fix that he needs to ask a bunch of self appointed experts on the internet how to do, people he does not know. Just how overjoyed would you feel if that story was your car? I would thank him profusely if he just brought it back and said sorry. I was a little brother and learned a long time ago when I broke my brothers stuff just cop to it because my remedy was almost certain not to be their remedy.
