512TR starter problem(s)

Unfortunately, TR and 512TR things have gotten a little mixed up/not-clearly-defined in some threads: I and F connectors are for 512TR; j and w connectors are for TR.

My 512TR starter was slowly getting less current to kick the solenoid recently, in past years I’d rebuilt the starter, replaced the ignition switch, cleaned up the fuse board, put in diodes to help reduce arcing.
It was fine for years but this time it was the connector that plugs into the starter solenoid, the wire had turned brown from heat, some corrosion and the connectivity was bad. Cutting the wire back a few inches and a new spade connector was like night and day, this might be the first place to check if you’re having issues.
